Once home to legendary musician Jon Cleary our light-filled, open concept 2bed/2bath property with private courtyard and balcony serves as the best home away from home while visiting New Orleans! Our friendly residential-like neighborhood offers a variety of eats and establishments right at your fingertips. Frenchmen St is roughly 6 blocks away which you can take to by foot or Uber/Lyft can have you there in minutes! There is ample free first come first serve street parking in the area. Our home is situated in a mixed-use building that has Small Mart Cafe, Pond Coffee, and Bandit Hair Company located downstairs. There is also another vacation rental in the building but no worries, you each have your own private entrances on complete opposite sides of the building!

Upon entering the property you'll walk up one flight of stairs to the spacious, open-concept living and kitchen area. The queen bedroom holds an en-suite while the other bedroom has a king bed; the second bathroom is located just off the common area. Our home is stocked with all kitchen and bath essentials along with plush bedding to make for a comfortable stay after a day of sightseeing and beignet indulging! You also have a private wrap-around balcony and string-lit courtyard!

In addition to Small Mart, Pond Coffee, and Bandit Hair Company located downstairs, our neighborhood is boasting with other local attractions, restaurants, bars, and cafes. All within 2-4 blocks of the property you'll find Bywater American Bistro, Horn's Eatery, Pepp's Pub, The Friendly Bar, Silk Road Restaurant and Wine Bar, Flora Cafe and Gallery, The Orange Couch, Crescent Park, JAMNOLA, Marigny Opera House (just to name a few!). And did we mention already that Frenchmen St is a swift 6 blocks away?!

As with any major city, please keep in mind that crime can and does happen in EVERY part of New Orleans. We love our city but please be street smart and do not leave valuables displayed in your vehicle and always be aware of your surroundings.

Here in the Marigny you'll find everything that makes New Orleans a uniquely wonderful place. Filled with eclectic personality come live like a local in this small wedge of real estate located just downriver from the French Quarter! The Marigny is home to some of the city's trendiest restaurants, bars and cafes all offering a variety of local cuisine, fun atmospheres and random 2nd lines! The location is ideal for those not wanting to be in direct contact with the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter while still close enough to have an authentic New Orleans experience and only be minutes from the main attractions! Take a ride on the Riverfront Streetcar which is located next to the outdoor French Market that's roughly 9 blocks away. Bourbon St is less than 1 mile away and Uber/Lyft can have you there in minutes to dance the night away!

Hidden gem!

This is one of my favorite VRBO stays anywhere, and I've stayed at quite a few just in New Orleans! Check-in was seamless. The hosts were always quick to respond to questions. The property is extremely spacious and was absolutely spotless on arrival. There is an enormous couch in the living room that you can sink into, and the balcony is lovely. Beds are super comfy, and there were plenty of extra pillows, blankets, and towels. We didn't use the kitchen but definitely appreciated having Community Coffee provided (we're Louisiana natives, and this is what we brew at home). There is also a coffeeshop downstairs, and several restaurants within walking distance. It's only a few blocks to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. Definitely walkable, although in this kind of summer heat, we ended up taking Ubers back afterwards. It's always a good idea to be alert, but the neighborhood felt very safe. There were people walking their dogs at night, and we did not have any trouble. There is also plenty of free parking on the street. I don't know what kind of magical air conditioner this place has, but it blew absolutely ice cold, even with a heat index over 100 degrees, which is fabulous to come back to after walking around. I'll definitely rebook in the future!

Terrific property!

When we visit Nola, we like to stay just outside the Quarter because of the noise factor. We normally stay in Marigny but found this wonderful apartment in Bywater. We needed a 2B/2B as our son and his husband were joining us for this trip. It’s only 6 blocks away from Frenchmen Street, is large, airy, very clean, secure, and the communications with Christina and Derek were terrific. We highly recommend this apartment and look forward to returning on our next Nola adventure.

Perfect place to stay!

Our group of 4 had a wonderful stay here. The location was great. The cafe below was convenient to get a morning coffee and bagel. Everything was clean. We especially liked the keyless entry which made it easy for our small crew to come and go as we pleased. Can’t really think of anything that could have been better. Many thanks again!

Great location very walkable

Super cute home and area. Coffee/ breakfast shop below (very good) and walking distance to French quarter and to the streetcar. The owners were wonderful on communication with us. Highly recommend this property! We will definitely be back to New Orleans!
