Es ist so schade, dass sie sich während ihres Urlaubs zu keinem Zeitpunkt bei mir beschwert hat – im Gegenteil, sie hat mir gesagt, dass ihr die Wohnung und ihr Urlaub gefallen. Als Reaktion auf die sehr unfaire Bewertung dieses schwierigen Gastes (siehe meine langjährigen fantastischen Bewertungen auf dieser Website) … Ja, die Gegend von Cala Fornells ist sehr ruhig – sie sagte, das sei es, was sie wollte. Ich habe zwei Karten mit der Lage der Wohnung in unserem kleinen Dorf geschickt. Die gesamte Umgebung ist ziemlich hügelig, was auf meiner Website erwähnt wird und ich habe es auch dem Gast gesagt, der meinte, das sei in Ordnung. Der Gast hat jedes Möbelstück erwähnt, das seit der Aufnahme der Fotos aktualisiert wurde. Wir müssen Möbel ständig aktualisieren und austauschen, wir machen nicht jedes Mal Fotos. Der Stil der Wohnung bleibt ähnlich. Ich bat um Fotos von der Badewanne, von der sie sagte, sie sei angeschlagen, und von der Versiegelung, sie schickte mir diese nicht. Ich habe meine Vertreter gebeten, das Dichtmittel zu überprüfen und bei Bedarf auszutauschen. Bei den „anderen Mängeln“, die mir gemeldet wurden, handelte es sich um Dinge, die der Gast als nicht funktionsfähig gemeldet hatte, aber als ich einen Wartungsmitarbeiter vorbeischickte, um das Problem zu beheben, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass der Gast sie nicht richtig eingeschaltet hatte oder sie einfach nicht fehlerhaft waren. Das bedeutete, dass mir mehrere unnötige Besuche in Rechnung gestellt wurden. Dieser Gast hat mir vor seinem Urlaub 19 Mal eine E-Mail mit Fragenlisten geschickt. Sie schrieb mir im Urlaub viele SMS und rief mich mit Fragen an, erzählte mir aber immer, dass ihr die Wohnung gefiel. Als sie zurückkam, schickte sie mir eine Liste mit Beschwerden, die sie in einer Bewertung auf der Website „mitteilen“ wollte. Sie versuchte, eine Rückerstattung zu erhalten. Ich habe mit diesem Gast bereits einen Verlust gemacht, weil ich so viele Leute rufen musste, um Dinge zu reparieren, die nicht fehlerhaft waren, z. B. sie hatte keinen Handtuchhalter angeschlossen und „das Schloss war defekt“ (war es nicht!) . Zusammenfassend lesen Sie bitte die ausführlichen 5-Sterne-Bewertungen, die ich in den 15 Jahren, in denen wir das Anwesen besitzen, regelmäßig von anderen Gästen bekomme.

Thank you for your review. I was so disappointed to see a 3 star review, amongst all our 5 star reviews (often from returning guests). I was particularly disappointed, given the unusual amount of contact we had both before and during your stay, giving you the standard information, but also answering a lot of ad hoc and varied questions from you. I was particularly surprised as you had even texted me questions during your stay, and I had asked you to continue to let me know if you had further questions, which response was just met with “I will let you know”… I am at least pleased that you confirmed the dialogue with me was great, prompt and thorough. I was also pleased you loved Cala Fornells and that you felt a lot of the apartment was very good, ie the comfort of the beds, the size and the kitchen facilities. The apartment is thoroughly cleaned between guests. I asked the cleaners to clean the grout with a toothbrush after you left, and look at the marks you refer to on the walls. I was sent a picture by the cleaners, who felt that a guest must have parked their pram up against the wall which left a black mark which could not be removed by cleaning. I have arranged for the paint to be touched over. You referred to the curtains – these are very expensive (£2k) cream curtains, which I am assured to not have holes in, but a hem was loose which has been repaired. Despite us asking guests not to leave cushions outside on the chairs overnight, of course these are often left outside in the sun, so like any outdoor cushions, they are frequently washed and replaced. I have had them replaced, as with the drinking glasses you mentioned – it sounds like maybe guests have replaced glasses they have broken but weren’t able to find matching glasses, which I am very sorry, again I have arranged for these to be binned and replaced with matching glasses. I am not sure what to reply regarding your comment that the apartment looked more cosy in the photos except to point out that is our apartment – most of the furniture in the photos was exactly the same, the one exception being that we had replaced the cream sofa sofa which had suffered in a holiday let very quickly with a brand new leather sofa about 3 weeks before you arrived – perhaps you didn’t like it? Regarding your comment on the price – the price for our quality apartment reflects its relatively large size (for a holiday apartment) and the facilities eg full air con, washing machine and even tumble dryer – all of which you told me you used a lot. The price is competitive in its peer group, as evidenced by our high level of repeat bookings from satisfied guests. Thank you again for your review. Alison

I was astounded to read this unfair and factually incorrect review. I would draw guests' attention to the tens of other excellent reviews we have received, reflected in the repeat bookings we receive. I was even more disappointed that this was not addressed directly to me at all. The agents met you at the apartment, and I apologise if you felt that experience did not meet your expectations. The content of the rest of your review is not accurate and is not a fair representation. The apartment is not high rise or dated. It was built in 2005, and is 4 apartments high, certainly not high rise. Difficult to respond to the "much smaller than the photos", without pointing out that the photos are reality showing the inside of the apartment, which is 76 sq metres plus large balcony - our previous and repeat guests feel this is a decent size for a 2 bedroomed holiday apartment, and it is one of the largest in the area. The kitchen is fairly small, set within the open plan living area, as clearly shown in the pictures and as described in my original emails. We have all appliances including full size fridge, freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, and in the separate utility room, a washing machine and tumble dryer. Again, exactly as shown and stated. Our home is not a villa, nor do we claim that it is. The outdoor dining furniture is untreated iron in style, the same as the day we bought it, and typical in the area, not rusty as you suggest. There are high quality full length cream curtains and the same colour nets, which guests can choose to have set right back to show the full length picture window to the balcony, or as we sometimes do, have the nets closed to reduce the sunglare and insects whilst maximising the view, over the pool, another smaller block of apartments and out to the horizon over the forest. It isn't a sea view, we do not claim it is, and the outlook is clear on the pictures. We love it, 99% of our guests love it, I am so sorry you did not. Very interesting you claim to have stayed in a hotel and posted the key back through the door, since that is not even possible to do. I am so sorry this was not as you had anticipated, and that the first I hear of this is an unfair review on HomeAway.
