"We absolutely loved our stay at Cow Byre 1 — it surpassed our expectations. The accommodation felt homely with lots of thoughtful touches, and you can really see the care that’s gone into both the property and the grounds. Our son especially loved the games room and used it every day. It was quiet, in a great location, and we still felt a real sense of space and privacy even though it seemed fully booked. "I don’t normally like leaving reviews. Clean spacious rooms, friendly and helpful host. The lounge had 2 leather sofas and my bedroom had a wooden floor with sheepskins on the floor, (the other 3 bedrooms had carpet) I would have preferred to have the comfort of fabric sofas and a carpeted bedroom, but I know that most people probably wouldn’t be bothered about that. "Solgirth House Farm was the perfect venue for our family Christmas reunion. A beautiful warm, cosy farmhouse with a modern extension, it offers all the home comforts and space you need. Located on a working farm estate in a picturesque rural location, the farmhouse is a fantastic getaway destination. Furthermore, Jan (the host) leaves a delicious hamper full of local produce and is happy to give you a tour of the farm to see the emus, rheas, pigs, cows and goats. Great fun!"

"We had a wonderful week staying in Hindburn cottage at Jan and Duncan's converted farmyard. You're surrounded by greenery and nature and can even say hello to goats, ducks and sheep in the grounds. The accommodation had everything we needed, a full kitchen, decent bed, and instant hot water for the shower. The online guide from Jan and Duncan covered all our questions and had several great ideas for places to eat, visit, and for country walks. Even better, they're truly one of the nicest couples...
