There is a deck with a forest and a pond in the backyard, and a short walk through the forest to a creek. Very peaceful, with things to do in the area."

"This is a lovely cottage that's perfectly situated between the town of Woodstock and the Overlook Mountain trail. Wonderful ambiance, great mattress, generously-appointed kitchen. Only caveat is that the ceilings are quite low in some spots — especially the kitchen entrance and the upstairs loft-style bedroom. Bumped my head a few times when I forgot to duck!"

The hot tub is great after skiing all day and the house had everything we needed for our stay. I especially loved that there were plenty of beds, a full bath on each floor, and comfy throw blankets. "The place was filthy. Kitchen tablecloth probably never washed grease on tea kettle, dirt on floor. Coffee grounds on top of machine. Junk in a lot of the drawers. Just a mess! Rustic is one thing, but this was dirty. What’s the sense in paying a cleaning fee if the place isn’t clean"
