"Definitely not five star. Room was beat up, balcony door didn't lock, closet didn't stay closed, patio furniture was filthy (rust stains). Food was weak, lobby worn out, loud pool music 12 hours a day - don't get a seaview unless you don't care about noise. We couldn't take it and left early and got no sympathy, got hit real hard by $1000+ in cancellation fees. Seems like hotel has an identify crisis, way too far from the action to be a decent party hotel, yet luxury is lacking, price too...

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Cancun all-inclusive resort. The room was spacious and clean, although there was a bit of a drainage smell from the hand basin in the bathroom.
