Synes godt om: Rengøring
We stayed in this resort in 2018 and were very happy with it. Coming back in 2023 made sense for us. However, I am not certain if a change in management happened, or if the resort is just experiencing post covid labour shortages, but the resort was way too full for the amount of staff on hand. There was a 2.5 hour wait in line to make a la carte reservations. Line ups at every bar & buffet line. The service suffered due to lack of staff. Additionally, the beach at this resort has experienced a major erosion and there is hardly any sand left. The photos on the website have not yet been updated. It is very rocky and not very swim friendly at all, especially in comparison to our last visit. The pools were packed, and it was a struggle to find chairs together if we wanted to join the masses for some sunbathing and R&R.
However, we were told we could hop between the Sandos Playacar and Sandos Caracol with our bracelets and enjoy all inclusive benefits at both, so we decided to check out the sister resort. BEST MOVE EVER. The beach at Playacar is spectacular, and we also enjoyed an entire day with a whole pool to ourselves. (Now that i've written this review, it will probably never be the case again and I'm sorry-it was magical)
The service, buffet lines, food quality, and resort itself were in much better shape at Playacar than Caracol- if I were to do this same trip again, I would book my room at Playacar and then day trip to the waterslide park at Caracol.
