This was my second time coming here with my family, we really enjoyed the property and the service. The only complain I have is when making reservations. They say you have to make them the day of but when I asked if i could make it for the following day they said NO!! But on the day before my last day they said they could do that !! I would’ve greatly appreciated if they said that the day I checked in ! I was furious

Very clean, awesome room, bed was nice, room service was great….The grounds were well maintained and the pool was nice. Staff was exceptionally good. Food was average but I would definitely recommend.

We just got back from a 10 day vacation there and had a great time! The property is super clean and very well kept, the staff is amazing and very attentive and the food is pretty good. The 2 pool restaurants are a great addition to the buffet during the day as you can order fresh seafood plates and other good quality food. Everyone is super helpful and are always looking for ways to assist and make your experience better :) the animation staff is awesome and always super happy and cheerful which made me love the activities by the pool and other things happening around the hotel. The kids club is a plus, the staff is very nice and friendly and have things going on all day to include nightly activities for the kiddos from 6-8 (all included if you get the all inclusive package). I definitely recommend it, it is definitely a family friendly resort so if you have kiddos go for it. But if you are looking for the party, i would go somewhere else as it does not have a very active nightlife past 10. I travelled with a 5 & 8 year old and it was perfect! Shout out to Cipriani who helped me fix my sunglasses and to all the hard working staff by the pool, buffet, activities center, bar, etc: thank you for an a great experience!

Check in was easy but our "concierge" really stretched the time out and was truly just a salesman to get us to go to the "presentation" the next morning that would only be an hour and we would get discounted massages and an excursion. The presentation was for a timeshare (shocker) and took 2 hours and it felt like they wouldnt let us leave until we got stern that we werent interested. The facilities themselves are alright (kind of you get what you pay for) rooms have are roomy and have a great layout but do have a smell. Not a biggie. The pools are great, however they are quiet. The beach is trash. It was non existent. You can see the effects of erosion, there is one small row of chairs, a ton of seaweed and then immediatly water. not at all what I was hoping for by coming to this region. The restaurant options are limited but sufficient. 2 reservation restaurants (with mediocre food) and one buffet then pool side options like pizza, hot dogs and fajitas (best fajitas ever) For excursions there was really only 2 options which I had never experienced so few options before but we went and it was fun. Overall if you are looking for affordable lodging in Playa del carmen for a family and you just want to hang out at the pool everyday then this could work for you. Otherwise I personally wish I had spent a bit more and picked another resort.

Lo que no me gustó fue su playa, no representa al caribe mexicano; no nos hizo falta ya que cuenta con varias albercas. Nos decepcionó el servicio de Carlos Pirex, a pesar de ser muy amable nos dijo puras mentiras: al llegar hicimos reservación para cenar al día siguiente; al llegar al restaurante nos encontramos con la sorpresa de no tener reservación, pensamos que nos habíamos equivocado, nos fuimos al otro y tampoco teníamos! La muchacha muy amable investigó y efectivamente Carlos no nos hizo ninguna reservación (pudimos cenar más tarde, muy rica la comida!). Al día siguiente nos dió miles de excusas culpando del error a otras personas. A manera de disculpa le dijo ai nieta de 6 años que cuando regresaramos de nuestro tour, tendría una sorpresa en la habitación y otra en el restaurante a la hora de la cena. Al llegar a la habitación ella entró emocionada y su carita cambió al ver que no había sorpresa alguna, tampoco en el restaurante (festejabamos su cumpleaños). Al comentarlo con Carlos nos dijo una serie de mentiras que hasta risa me dió. Conclusión: hotel muy recomendado, comida deliciosa incluyendo la del bufet, muy limpio todo, solo eviten que los atienda Carlos Pirex.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Mexico & all inclusive and this trip was beyond amazing. The food options were phenomenal as were the drink options. The property always had events daily all the while trying to keep you engaged. Pools were great! Upon arriving staff was PHENOMENAL! Pepe was great with letting me know immediately upon arrival what to expect. The only thing I wish there was more of was music at the pool, this would be a great addition for guests to enjoy their time relaxing near the pool area!

The Royal Haciendas is a beautiful resort. The property is extremely well maintained, so clean and in pristine condition. The food, drinks, and service are all excellent. Beautiful beach (the seaweed was cleared out every morning) and beautiful pools. The suites are spacious and so clean. The staff is excellent. Round trip ground transportation can be arranged by calling the resort - Thomas More Travel is there onsite, can transport to tours and there is a resort shuttle downtown. Concierges Carlos and Ulises helped us navigate the resort and took great care of us. Our maid Angelica Belam did an amazing job, kept our suite so clean. Our favorite waiters, Pedro at the Luna Grill and Cesar at La Palapa del Sol (breakfast buffet) always took excellent care of us. They were the best! We needed maintenance in the room because the power went out one night for a couple of hours. As soon as I called the front desk within minutes maintenance staff came and the mechanical problems were solved. Beware of scammers at the airport trying to book you for cheap tours, it's a scam to make you sit in an all day presentation for another timeshare resort. The Royal Haciendas will arrange everything you need, including tours. The fine dining restaurants are five star experiences. There is a full service spa and a store onsite. This is a timeshare resort, but you can also stay as a regular guest. Best resort I've been to on multiple trips to the Mexican Caribbean. We definitely will come back!

Terrible la experiencia en el check in, nunca había vivido algo igual. En todos los hoteles todo incluído a los que he visitado ( y han sido muchos) he podido hacerel check in a cualquier hora. En este hotel pude hacer check in y acceder a consumir hasta las 12 del día. La actitud en recepción de Susana terrible, lejos de ayudar fue de burla y prepotencia, nos dijo que al no tener habitación no podíamos obtener pulseras para poder consumir y que regresaremos después de las 11 AM a ver si tenías suerte. Esperamos en la entrada ya que no se puede hacer nada más en el hotel al no tener pulseras de acceso. Noto que antes de las 11 otros huespedes hacen su check in sin ningún contratiempo aun sin tener lista su habitación porque oí cuando les avisaron que la habitación estaba alista hasta las 2 pm, me acerco con la misma tipa que nos atendió ( Susana) y me dice que a ver si tenemos ya suerte en el check in. Nuevamente nos negaron el check in e incluso pedí hablar con un gerente en turno y llegó un encargado creo que de nombre Juan y en el mismo papel de no se puede poner aún brazaletes de acceso ya que no hay habitación, aún y cuando en el mismo tiempo habian varias personas haciendo el check in y a todos ellos si les estaban dando acceso. Me comenta este sujeto que si podíamos acceder pero si queríamos consumir algo te debíamos que pagar ya que aún no teníamos habitación asignada. No sé si porque éramos locales porque cabe destacar que todos los demás clientes eran extranjeros.

Very clean property and hospitable staff. The food was 7/10 not much flavor. But a lot of varieties . Love the green juice bar. Lots of entertainment. The beach was nice but lots of seaweed that was constantly being cleaned up but the scenery is still so beautiful . When you tip well you get serviced better and the staff lives on tips. $1 does not suffice sad that that’s what people mostly tip . A very touristy resort mostly timeshare holders. I dislike that chairs are reserved really early in the morning. I rarely would find a chair.

Liked staff were friendly and willing to help you if you needed any assistance. 2 formal sitdown resturants have excellent food and 1 average buffet could have some upgraded features. Maybe 1 more formal restaurant should be added for better availability because you can't always get a reservaton on 1st try. Outdoor grills are great with excellent food. Room service except for our last moring was slow to deliver told 40 to 45 min but mostly took 1 hour to 1 1/2 hr. Food was cold but thank goodness we had a microwave. Contents were messed up a little example ordered lg black coffee got smaller pot with 1 cup next time received a packet of 4 cups & saucers, sometimes you got saucers sometimes not. Ordered a breakfast full meal plus an order of yogurt, sausage & fruit for another person got no plate to eat anything on. Sometimes silverware for 2 sometimes only 1 with just a knife and a fork for 2. Limited selection of food. Again glad we had mini kitchen in unit. No omelets/waffles on breakfast RS menu. Could go to buffet and get an omlet but was told we could not bring up to the room. Pizza and burgers not a formal dinner to enjoy a meat/potatoe/vegetables/desert meal in your room or a evening special beach dinner. No better dinner meals to select from but bucket meals of chicken etc were available for families & groups. Nice feature for larger group or a family. Beach needs some kind of a redo investment to improve the walkability by removing palm stumps and wood hazads.

I really enjoyed my stay with my kids. There were activities almost every hour and I can say we genuinely had a good time. Several pools, private beach, great food with such a wide variety. I felt so safe and the safe omg the staff were amazing. Special thanks to our concierge Carlos! Thanks for making us feel at home!

Aquino was our concierge and helped with everything we needed. The buffet food was limited but quite good. It wasn't difficult to find something to enjoy with each meal. The 'bar' food by the pools was as good as any I've ever had. Coktel de pulpo was the best. The resort mostly caters to older guests but the kids club was superior to any other resort I have been to. Kids club staff was top notch. I am terrible with names but couldn't forget beautiful Fernanda. She was a hostess at the buffet whose presence made getting up in the morning less of a chore. No real complaints from myself and the service from the staff was unrivaled.

The resort was clean and easy to navigate. Beach access, excellent food options, tons of free activities for adults and kids. Plus, easy scheduling for excursions. All staff members were pleasant and happy taking help. Bartender Hector not only made delicious drinks, but also answered all our questions about the resort!

This was our 9th visit and as usual it was wonderful. Food was better than ever and everyone was super friendly. Check in / check out was very easy and fast. Pool was emasculate and activities going on all day. Buffet was themed daily and Los Morelos formal was exquisite. Pool food and bar was fun and good.

It is a beautiful 'resort' where we felt safe the whole time. It is also a timeshare property so everywhere you go they ask for your room number to verify your all inclusive (even though you do have wristbands). The service was either amazing or they didn't care to be there. Hit or miss no matter how nice we were. The cleaning staff was amazing. Out of the five restaurants, only two are included, nothing special. The buffet was good, great to have food available all day but wasn't the greatest. All in all, a nice place.

Hotel is OK, but for the price you can get plenty of better options in the area. The staff are very friendly with the exception of bar areas around pool, where service was extremely slow and priority was given to non-all-inclusive folks who obviously had to pay for their food/drinks (more tips probably). The staff were constantly trying to get us to move from tables (we were a party of 10) because they "were needed elsewhere", even though the hotel was nowhere near capacity and plenty of tables/chairs available. The breakfast selection and the casual-elegant dinner options (steakhouse and hibachi place) were great, but the buffet or pool-area food was average. Beware of taking a day-trip to the cenote - they will tell you it's included and only have to swing by a restaurant and a jewelry shop because it's part of the agreement, but what they don't tell you is this is nearly 4 hours between drivetime (all the way back to Cancun for this), and the time you stay in there. The drivers will disappear for a while as is probably expected of them and you have to just wait it out in there. A day trip from 8.30 to 5 PM only really allowed us to be at the cenote after 12.30 PM - the other 4 hours were spent in vans or shops, way more than what was explained to us. Kinda just ruins the day. Everything is very clean. But probably recommend some other place for the price.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was always friendly and took care of us very well. One thing I did not love was the buffet which I would rate as ok at best. With that being said we had fantastic meals at the two restaurants and found making bookings very easy.

We stayed here for 11 days with 2 children, ages 9 and 11. We had an awesome vacation. This place was beautifully landscaped and quite clean. We really enjoyed the food by the pool and my kids loved the games room. I would have rated it higher overall but there are timeshare people everywhere at this resort… I felt a bit hustled at times even after saying we weren’t interested in ownership. There are a lot of owners here too, so at times it felt like they were treated a bit better….some owners seemed to express a sense of entitlement. But we also met some wonderful people who owned places. My advice would be just avoid the timeshare people like you do when you exit the airport in Cancun!

We had a wonderful March break! The one bedroom suites are extremely spacious and perfect for separation from the kids at night. Poolside restaurants were great, can even order food to your lounger. As mentioned by others, can be hard to get reservations at the ala carte restaurants- need to call first thing in the morning, and even then we only got 5pm reservations (which was ok for our hound family). It’s a very family friendly resort, pretty quiet in the evenings, would benefit from more shows in the evenings and music by the pools for atmosphere. The property is maintained impeccably and we found the food and drinks excellent! Only cons were no music by the pool, limited evening entertainment, beach is eroding, and difficult to get waiters attention at times by the pools (wondering if they serve the time share people more readily than the all inclusive guests?). Our kids really enjoyed the kids club, they were great! All in all, we would definitely go back!

The stay at the Royal Haciendas was mostly pleasant except on the following: 1.The concierge staff trying to push us to view a presentation to sell us stuff, probably timeshares in exchange of 'free gifts"like free tickets to Xcaret and massages at the beach for a couple. My wife suffered an ansiety episode because of this, and we didnt watch this presentation or signed for anything. 2. The customer service at the buffet place was very bad. The male waiters didnt treat us the way they treated other customers, except one waiter, which he did treat us nicely. They took a very long time to fulfil our requests, and one time we were having breakfast, he took forever to serve coffee, then when he finally came to serve us, he asked if I wanted coffee creamer, which I said yes, but he just didnt do it, he went to another table to serve someone else. 3. The staff (mostly young women) at the kids place ignored/didnt treat my daughter well when we went to the kids activities, since she is not 4 yet we had to stay close by, but we could see that they were paying more attention to other kids than my daughter. All in all, I would not go back to this place, because of the bad customer service at the buffet place, the sales push and the kids place staff. The place is nice and the beach is small but at least you can swim in the ocean on one part of the beach.
