I’ve stayed at all of the other Universal hotels and, based on this experience, I would not recommend the Portofino. We chose it primarily because it was the last Universal property we had not yet stayed at; however, I would not book it again.
The hotel layout is extremely confusing, with long, winding hallways that make navigation difficult—especially when traveling with a double stroller. In some cases, the closest elevators opened to single-door entrances or exits, which added to the accessibility challenges. Additionally, housekeeping carts were frequently left in the middle of the hallways, and because they are electric, they couldn’t be easily moved.
The rooms themselves were clean and well maintained. This feedback is based strictly on ease of navigation and overall accessibility, not cleanliness or service.
