Very nice for the price

Older condo but well maintained and clean. Very spacious. Right on the beach. Comfortable bed. Large bedroom and very large common area.

We had fun! Nice people. Relaxing! Good area on the beach, away from the huge crowds. Nice Condo in general but really needs cosmetic updating. Cosmetic updating, would probably be fairly cheap to update....like new carpet......(very stained-dirty looking.) Re-do patio flooring outside. ### Priority Suggestions at the least, for the Condo should, at the least, have these following "necessities" for your renters: More hangers, a couple small beach chairs, some coasters to protect your tables, better vacuuming or replace carpet, very soiled; some plastic beach glasses, ice trays, and tupperware for leftovers! Lastly, an emergency phone number with a small list of "close by" stuff, like: The closest walk-in clinic with ph. number for injuries/medical issues; name and address of the closest grocery store and beer/liquor store. Name and address of closest restaurants and fun bars, and a few names of the closest fun places to go to!

Great beach condo!

Came for a few nights after Universal Studio Orlando for some R&R. This place was perfect! Away from the high rises and crowds but still close enough to nightlife, family fun spots and great restaurants. Management was very helpful and quick to respond. Highly recommend. We’ll be back!

Go somewhere else if you want honesty

This unit worked for what we needed last minute yet the unit was very dirty and I was charged for services not provided. VRBO likes to charge you fees even when you book through a different company. I had no communication with VRBO yet they want a service fee. Such a ridiculous scam.

Dirty and Broken

We usually love staying in this complex however, this unit in particular was not well kept. The dryer was broken, the stove was broken, the lightbulbs were burnt out, the bathroom sink was clogged, the toilet tank lid was broken, and the sink faucet didn't work. The living room rug was obviously stained and dirty. This unit needs some maintenance and it needs a deep cleaning. I am very disappointed with this experience.

Needs TLC

This property has good possibilities but has lots of things that need attention. Not clean. Run down. Out dated. Broken knobs and lamps. Needs "major" renovations. The threshold going out onto the balcony is a hazard as it sticks up about 4" and there is a TV cable laying loose in front of it. My wife and I both tripped over it going in and out of the balcony.

Light on porch electrically shorted out, smoked. Patio Door unreasonably hard to use. TV had 7 remotes! Bathroom fan extremely noisy. Refrigerator was not cold. smoke alarm inoperable on arrival. just about all lamps had no switch, had to plug and unplug at each use. no paper towels. extremely rusty patio table. bedding was inadequate, asked for blankets and never got them. property grossly in need of updating and repair. We have vacationed here for years, we have never experienced such a sad, in need of care property before.

On the beach

Great location in an older condo on the beach. We enjoyed having a kitchen, washer/dryer. A few items need to be addressed: The dishwasher needs to be secured because when you open the door, the whole unit comes out. The lamp & ceiling fan in the queen bedroom aren’t working, and the rugs have stains. Other than this, we were very comfortable & happy with our stay!

Review

This room was not cleaned before our arrival. The second bathroom still had makeup residue on the vanity. The kitchen was not cleaned very well. The room has a bug problem. We have stayed at Gulf Gate several times and this is by far the worst property I have ever stayed in. I will not be renting this one again. You really need to have your staff go in this property and look at fixing many discrepancies with this condo. Curtains in the main bedroom lamps not working water pressure awful. Just to name a few . And some one should check behind cleaning crew to make sure they do the job. If I had the opportunity to view this property beforehand I would not have spent that kind of money to rent it.

Comfortable, Clean, not fancy

My wife and I had the Condo for 4 nights. We've done this many times now and prefer the Thomas Dr side of Panama City Beach. We have stayed at Gulf Gate before and like how close you are to the water. We were on the 4th floor and there were just a couple of things they could have done better. The furniture on the balcony was rusted and needs to be replaced as a couple of the chairs were missing feet which made them wobble. This would be a pretty cheap fix and they really should make the investment in new balcony furniture. Also they should have instructions printed on how to use the TV. I had to figure it out myself which was a challenge. Management was responsive and quick to send someone even though it wasn't necessary as I had pretty much figured things out on my own. We also enjoyed being on the 4th floor as opposed to staying in previous units where we could not really get the feel of the water as we were so high. It's a trade off and being a little lower is for us. I would definitely recommend and this was not a bad deal.

THERE IS REFERENCE TO "KEY" BEING USED TO ENTER UNIT AND THE CODE GIVEN IS TO UNLOCK THE BOX CONTAINING THE "KEY"! AND IF THE "KEY" IS LOST THERE IS A FEE ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOSS OF THE SAID "KEY"! IN REALITY THE KEY CODE GIVEN UNLOCKS THE DOOR HANDLE EACH TIME YOU ENTER THE UNIT. THE SITE NEEDS UPDATING. THE ONSITE MANAGER THAT MAKES NO MONEY FROM THE RENTAL OF YOUR UNIT ENDS UP ASSISTING PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF. SEND HER A CHECK!!!!

This condo was very nice and great location. Uncrowded beach, close to restaurants. Balcony rail needs to be addressed, attached firmly. We will definitely stay here again.

Very disappointed

The location of the property was great, but the condo is definitely in need of an update and maintenance. The furniture is worn out and very outdated, the dishwasher leaks,master bed frame is sagging and very uncomfortable. There was not a can opener to be found in the entire condo. The coffee maker was old and full of mold. The sliding glass door in the living room was broken and took two people to even attempt to open. The carpet on the back patio was full of sand when we arrived and not a full patio set was on the patio as pictured. The condo is definitely in need of a good cleaning throughout as well. All the ceiling fans were covered in dust, mold in the showers and toilets. Neither toilets in the condo flushed properly. This condo was not worth the price we paid to stay for 5 nights. Some of these things were already mentioned in some previous reviews and management replied that they would be fixed, but obviously they had not yet been repaired, as promised. Disappointed guests. We will not be back to this establishment in the future. We will stay elsewhere.

Very comfortable and convenient. Beachfront is amazing. Picky people would find few faults, like hard to open sliding door to a perfect balcony. swim the pool early, full of kids afternoon. Bring briquettes and meat to grill downstairs. We plan to go back next year.

Property needs repairs before children stay there.

We had a great time, however this unit needs lots of repairs. The cabinet door fell off, the commode would not flush to begin with, and carpet nails were bare. The unit manager was quick to respond about the commode issue.

Great condo with spectacular view

My family had a great time at this condo! The views are gorgeous and condo in spacious! Things we loved about this condo - great views of the gulf, super quiet, heated pool, on the beach, master bedroom has a sliding door (with screen) which lets you hear the waves crash all night/day, DVD in both rooms (helped with my little kids cranky afternoons), functional kitchen and laundry in the unit. We were greeted by a welcome basket when we got to the condo - so unexpected! Things that were lacking - really minor things such as - ceiling light in master bedroom, salt and pepper in kitchen, patio sliding door could use a handle to help with open/close of it. The furniture in the living room is old but really the point is to be out and about enjoying the beach! Would definitely stay here again!

Mixed feelings (3 1/2 stars)! Great location and facility; but, the condo itself needs some updates.

The positives first: 5 STAR views and beach area! Great pool--private, well-maintained and clean! Free parking! It was wonderful to have a nice washer/dryer in the unit. The king size bed is very comfortable. There is an elevator to haul your luggage and groceries up to the 4th floor. The stove top and microwave worked. _______ The not-so positives: The unit itself needs some little repairs/updates. 1. The toilet in one bathroom had some problems flushing (filling in the back). I contacted Robin and she was really nice. She sent someone over to fix it, but it did not seem to completely solve the problem (the tank fills, but the handle still doesn't always make it "flush"). 2. The other bathroom sink plug was stuck. The repair people pulled the plug (but never put a new one back in). 3. The furniture is pretty stained/dirty and could use a good cleaning. The transition strip in the BDR door frames were missing and the nails were sticking up. The repair men nailed the nails down, but they did not replace the strips. Hopefully, they will. 4. The pots and pans could use an updating--they are pretty worn. There are no large bowls (example: for making a salad). 5. There was only one DVD player and it was in the larger BDR. The living room had an older video cassette player but no DVD player. We didn't want to mess with the electronics/cables to move the DVD player to the living room. Not sure if it's supposed to be there or not. 6. Many of the glasses in the cupboard needed to be rewashed before using (stuff sticking to them). 7. The bottom drawers of the dressers fall out. The closet door is ajar as well. 8. The sliding door from the living room is VERY difficult to open!!! _______ Overall, we liked it. The views/sunsets are amazing! It WOULD BE highly recommended if the unit could get the fixes/cleaning/updates it needs.

Great location and we would stay here again. The kitchen needs new cookware, if your planning to cook very much you may want to bring your own cookware. Overall for the money a great vacation spot.
