"We were dismayed when we arrived and the place isn't as nice as the photos suggest (some nice furniture was gone). One of the beds had soiled sheets on it and was dirty on the floor around it. The property manager sent a cleaner over two days later, but that person who needed to stay in that bed had to find other accommodations. "The communal living spaces on the first floor were spacious. We would have breakfast together as a family in the morning. All the A/Cs worked which was key for these very warm and humid days. Upstairs, the beds were comfortable. Yes, some of the finishes are older, but I've lived in NY before and know that it's also part of the charm. For the price for our group of 7, it was a great deal. "The actual apartment itself was fine. A bit tight but fine. The greatest concern was the trash that was on the roof right outside my patio. Which made you not want to sit on the patio. The other concern I had was the difficulty I had getting in touch with anyone to help or answer questions. I shouldn't have to play email-tag in order to get help. "Listing was not as advertised, in an unsafe neighborhood, requested separate rental agreement (which would be fine) but an additional requirement for card documentation for their file, implying a duplicate charge. When I tried to cancel our 5 night stay (online, via phone, and through email) after nearly being accosted by 3 strangers upon our entry, I was immediately denied and told 'no refund', 'can't cancel' and 'its not known (locally) as a safe place'. Ridiculously poor customer service...

"The apartment is exactly as described! Very clean. Perfect location. Close to grocery stores and liquor stores. It is a bit noisy from outside noise, but what place isn’t in New York? So bring some ear plugs. Definitely worth the rental price!! We could not have been any happier with this rental!"
