"When we arrived it was clear the cottage had not been cleaned. The previous occupants' dirty sheets and towels were piled up and there were no clean sheets or pillowcases for the bed. The kitchen was dirty and there was damp and peeling wallpaper. It was not possible to contact the owner straight away and after a couple of hours we were told the owner could not send a cleaner until the following day. Since there was nowhere clean to sleep we left and went home"

"Great location. Unfortunately the place was not clean. Dusty floors, hairs on toilet, cobwebs. The basin in toilet was dirty. Such a shame as it could have been a great place given the location"

"We really enjoyed out stay and the proximity to Robin Hoods Bay was ideal but also to other resorts along the coast. The cottage was warm and cosy, had everything we needed and we found a parking space just up from the property which made it accessible. Highly recommend."

"One of a group of holiday cottages situated inbetween Towton & Sherburn In Elmet. Lovely clean quiet cottage with ample parking. Check in was available from 3. Everything provided that you would expect, along with milk tea & coffee as a welcome touch on arrival. 2 bedrooms, 1 double 1 single so sleeps 3 comfortably. Nothing negative at all to mention and would recommend as a base to anyone. Ate at The Rockingham Arms one night and that is another recommendation"

"A spotlessly clean, well appointed cottage in a great location. Just returned from a short break in Skipton. Prospect Cottage was a perfect base. Unlike some reviewers, we were fortunate with parking, perhaps a benefit of a small car! We did however walk most of the time, leaving the car at the cottage.
