Location, location, location! Only about a 7 minute walk from Times Square, all Broadway shows and right next to the Late Show with Stephen Colbert studio.
The room is spacious and has an extremely comfortable bed, that felt like clouds to sleep on.
The staff were helpful and ironing is available in each room as well as an umbrella because you never know when it's going to rain.
The hotel seems a bit older and certain features need to be updated; there was no ventilation in the bathroom so it can get pretty steamy in there, additionally the shower did not have a door so the water could easily get all over the bathroom. The sinks were visibly older and had wear and tear marks on them and the toilet would get stuck in the flush position so we needed to manually push the handle back up otherwise the water would keep flowing non stop from the tank.
Those were all not huge negatives but there's definitely room for improvement.
The room keys stopped working on our second day and we had to go get replacements at guest services, we met a few more guests that mentioned how the same thing happens to everyone after their first day, so it seemed to be a frequent issue, again not a deal breaker but a slight inconvenience.
Given the location of the hotel it usually gets a bit loud outside at various times of the day and night with traffic and cars honking, it's a true New York City experience.
Overall the hotel was safe, and met our expectations.
