I spent 3 nights at 2-Rent SEN14 which was a very convenient 250m or so from an escalator down (the Goethestraße exit) to the Hauptbahnhof. I hadn't realised that I didn't need to walk all the way around to the main entrance to the station! 2-Rent SEN14 is also close to the Straßenbahn stop and it's about 20/25 minutes brisk walk to Marienplatz.
The building is easy to enter using the code provided for the street entrance and hotel itself, then the room code to access the room key in a safe box . I was assigned a room on the 5th (top) floor which was no problem for me, however, the lift (I didn't know there was a lift until I saw other guests using a lift outside) only goes to the 4th floor. Unless I missed this information, I didn't know there was stair access from the 4th floor lift, because initially I couldn't find the staircase in what was rather a maze! Anyway, I emailed 2-Rent and the owner gave me details of exactly how to find the lift. I don't have mobility issues (just a dodgy knee) but I think guests need to know that there is a narrow staircase from the 4th to the 5th floor with a few steps and bits of corridor.
The room was perfect for me, as I'm a budget traveller. It was bright, basic - though I had a room with 2 single beds which was spacious - and clean with a balcony. I had a shower/toilet and a simple kitchen: fridge with freezer cupboard, 2 plate hob, sink. A kettle is provided otherwise you can pay 25 Euros for kitchen utensils. Quiet and warm.
