I booked this property based on its description as a garden unit with an operable kitchen. In reality, it is a basement apartment accessed via a narrow, steep stairwell with limited amenities and poor customer service. The entry vestibule had clear signs of past flooding, with broken wood and debris that remained throughout my stay.Check-in was equally disappointing — the key had to be retrieved from a liquor store ten minutes away, which was never mentioned in advance. Inside, the problems continued: there was a moth infestation in the sheets, pillows, and couch when I arrived. The host did not offer to address this until the third day. Several kitchen elements were not functioning from the start and were never repaired during my eight-day stay (these have since been quietly removed from the listing). The bed was smaller than a double, the bedroom paint was heavily chipped, and the overall condition was poor. To make matters worse, noise from neighbouring units was frequent and disruptive.This was by far the most disappointing and misleading rental I have experienced on Vrbo.
