I loved this place and will definitely return to this hotel on future visits to Old San Juan.
Pros: The hotel's prime feature is undoubtedly its unbeatable location. Situated in the heart of Old San Juan, it is surrounded by numerous cafés, restaurants, and gift shops. It is within walking distance of the historic San Cristóbal fortress. It’s also conveniently close to the port and El Morro fortress. The property boasts a stunning hacienda-style design and is beautifully decorated. The room and bathroom were modern, spotless, and equipped with all essentials, including beach towels. Hot water is consistently available for showers. The owner, Mari Cruz, is friendly and courteous, offering free luggage storage in her shop after check-out.
Cons: My mom and I stayed in a smaller second-floor room without windows, which was challenging: it was too cold when the AC was on, too hot and humid when off, and felt claustrophobic. Additionally, fitting four pieces of luggage—two large and two carry-ons—was difficult. The queen-sized bed was too small for two guests and too short for taller individuals like me, and the mattress was uncomfortable. The WiFi was unreliable and had a poor connection when available. The hotel also lacks elevators, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its unbeatable central location in Old San Juan. I will return and choose a larger, ground-floor room with windows to enhance the stay.
