I booked this hotel mainly based on the decor, was looking for a boutique hotel, nothing cookie cutter, first time in San Francisco so wanted to try out something different. The place is beautifully decorated, loved the fireplace in the mornings and they have coffee & tea starting at 7am which was a bonus. The games room area was a nice addition too! The bar in the fireplace area was not open at all in the week we stayed nor was the outdoor area which is advertised in the photos and that was disappointing. We never ate in the restaurant so there’s nothing to review in that area.
The room itself: not the best bed for comfort, pretty old, definitely needs an upgrade but again, older building. The one thing that absolutely needs to be replaced is that sliding door to the bathroom, it does not close all the way, no privacy whatsoever. Love my partner but come on, would be nice to go to the bathroom in private.
We didn’t interact much with the staff but on the few occasions we did nobody seemed to happy or interested in chatting, bit of a cold vibe for being in the service industry, kind of disappointing.
Go to the Lost Cat bar next door, they make great old fashioned’s!
