Super ophold
Kan kun anbefales. Ligger perfekt. Meget flot hotel. Det eneste minus er de små brusekabiner. Men alt andet er perfekt.

Smukt og stilfuldt hotel nær Collosseum.
Værelset var hyggeligt, men for lille. Toilet og bad gik lige an - men heller ikke der var der plads i overskud. Morgenmaden var rigtig god og personalet imødekommende og venligt. Forestiller os at det ville være et fantastisk sted om sommeren, hvor gæsterne kunne sidde ude i en hyggelig have. Alt ville have været tilfredsstillende, hvis der bare havde været en pool eller en spa, som der skulle forefindes i.flg. oplysningerne fra Expedia - og som var vores hoved grund til at vælge netop dette hotel...

Tæt på colesseum
Hotellet ligger super tæt på colesseum, hvilket er fantastisk. Værelset var meget lille og ift billederne, følte vi os lidt snydt. Det værste var dog at badeværelset var så trangt at vi var nødt til at sidde skråt, når vi skulle på toilettet. Morgenmaden var ok uden at være prangende. På afrejsedagen skulle vi tidligt af sted og de sørgede for at vi stadigvæk fik morgenmad selvom det var uden for åbningstiden. Personalet var smadder søde og hjælpsomme. Det eneste vi undrede os over var at vi ikke måtte betale byskatten med vores visakort. De insisterede de på at vi hævede penge til at betale med. Prisen for de tre overnatninger var efter vores mening for dyr ift værelset, faciliteter og morgenmaden set ift hvad vi har fået for pengene i andre storbyer. Men hvis man kun er fokuseret på beliggenhed og imødekommende personale kan hotellet sagtens anbefales.

Dear Sirs, thank you for you review, the Rome City tax which is Euro 4 per person per day should be paid by all guests sleeping in Rome at the end of their stay. Is not an amount be taken for the Hotel but we have to give this money to the Rome City council at the end of the month.

The hotel was just beautiful in the perfect location steps from the Colosseum. Staff was extremely friendly. The room was a bit small but I was expecting that. It is beautiful. Definitely recommend you staying there.

Nice property. Within waking distance of several historical sites. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are small in European fashion but nicely decorated. Very quaint.

There were cockroaches on the bathroom. My wife had an early commitment and the entrance was locked, she tried looking for someone but there was no one visible. Finally one guy was sleeping in one room with the door open and she woke him up by knocking the door. He finally woke up and got the door open. She ended up loosing her Florence train.

Dear Francisco,you were here with us for 7 days and you never complained about anything always smiling.We ironed you shirts early in the morning right away.We also upgraded you for free to a Deluxe double room with jacuzzi .Now it is too late and we apologize for your wife early departure ( 05:45 a.m.).Advising us the night before at the lobby could be helpful as you did the last night for your early departure towards the airport on departure which was organized by us with success.Usually our main entrance it is locked between 01:00 until 06;00 for security reasons.Best regardsRoberto,Hotel Celio

This is a great location within blocks of the Colosseum. There was a plethora of dining options and availability for drinks. The only downside is we were on the terrace garden, which is essentially on the rooftop and it was four flights of stairs Every time you had to come in and come out. Also, the tub/shower we had was very high up in order to get into it, which was not convenient. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. FYI don’t lose the key!

The property was amazing very clean and staff friendly. Walking only 200ft to coliseum and lots of restaurants and cafe near by and grocery store.The hop off hop on bus stop is right there as well. The rooms were very clean and neat. This is the perfect place to stay to visit Rome.

Following recent trip to Rome, this hotel is in an excellent location near the Colosseum and 20min walk from Rome's main terminal train station. Big Bus tour is also 5min walk to stop and that gets you all around Rome City (Hop On/Off) Hotel is is in lovely condition, mosaic floors and wall art everywhere (really cool). Room was excellent with AirCon and great powerful shower. When I go back to Rome, I will most certainly say here again. Loved it.

I would never consider this place family friendly. We are a family of 4 and the room we had reserved made it seem as though it was. A queen bed with two cots on either side had been set up and absolutely no where to even more around. The bathroom was like a bathroom in a camper. Also was not crazy about the location/neighborhood. No parking. And my 5 year old got yelled at when he stood up on the couch in the waiting area while we were waiting for my husband to bring the car to load re-load all of our luggage.

Regarding your comment being our Hotel Celio not family friendly is not truth at all.Hundreds of families where here with us and they were all enthusiast about our hotel ,our family rooms and the stunning location only 100 meters from the Coliseum. Last but not least we do have a spectacular roof garden in use for all our guest including a gym, high speed internet access everywhere in the Hotel.You mentioned that your son was yelled ( not yelled but nicely advised) from our staff because he was with his shoes on our leather couch.Should be helpful if his mother advised him not to put on the couch.The family room you occupied is 25 meters square, with a large bathroom with shower glass cabin, the bed is an american standard king size ( mt. 2,10 x 2,00) and the 2 single beds for the children on the side of the king are 2 standard single bed (mt. 1.90 x 0.80 each) and not 2 cots…A bonus of the room you booked was a very large private terrace.Did not help that after your arrival on the early afternoon you and the all family were always constantly in the room till the next morning even ordering in room dinner on Just Eat service for the 4 of you.Parking was organized by us in a nearby garage (300 meter away) for your enormous Suv .The Hotel Celio does not have either private parking or a garage and is well written clear on the Expedia website.About our location/neighborhood there is no need to comment being us 100 meters from the Coliseum and the Roman Forum, 3 minutes walking for the Emperor Nero Domus Aurea and the Church of St. Peter in Chain where is located the Mose's of Michelangelo, 5 minutes walking from The Circus Maximus and Caracalla baths,10 minutes walking from Piazza Venezia with the” Wedding Cake” an 15 minutes walking from the Pantheon ,the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps.Best regardsRoberto,mgrHotel Celio

Overpriced and cramped
Celio displays a plaque proclaiming it one of the "Small Charming Hotels of Italy." While the decor in the public areas is charming (if dark), the operative word is SMALL, and it is more like a B&B. The halls & breakfast room are beautifully decorated w/mosaic floors & fabulous chandeliers. But the rooms are miniscule, dark, & shabby. Our "double room" might be fine w/one bed, but w/2 twin beds crammed in, there wasn't room to open our suitcases on the floor. I had to open mine on the bed and close it when I went to sleep. Our travel companions' quad rm should have been a double. Our sheets had holes in them, & the beds were hard. The rooms were chilly. The carpet was faded & needed cleaning. The bathrm and shower were clean but miniscule. The small space and dim lighting produced an oppressive, claustrophobic feeling. The rave reviews were misleading; many say how nice the owners are, when in fact, they had sour faces & looked put-out when we needed anything. The prices were like a fine hotel, but the experience was like a B&B, which should be priced lower. They served a continental breakfast, which was fine but not in the same league as the abundant buffets at our other hotels. Once my son got no croissant bcs "someone else had two" earlier. The hotel is not accessible, w/stairs to the front door, no elevator, & no space for a wheelchair (or overweight person) to maneuver. We planned to stay 3 nights but left after 2, bcs we couldn't bear the dim, cramped space any more.

Dear Ms. Kate, thank you for your review which helps us to answer and clarify to all our future guests .You and your friends were here in our Hotel Celio for 2 nights stay and was not a booking for disabled people.Our hotel founded on 1930 with 19 rooms (including 2 marvellous suites) and completely renovated and refurnished in 2018, is a very charming in classical roman style full of frescoes and mosaic marbles mosaic tiles eveywhere and all modern facilietes including great Wifi access ,smart tv with Netflix and Amazon Prime.Rome is a City almost 3000 years old and sizes of roads,buildings ,rooms,bathrooms, cars cannot be compared with any other city in the word .The Hotel is not suitable for disabled guests and does not have a lift , well explained in the Hotels.com site.While you were here with us you never asked or complained about anything at all. This should helped us.Regarding your booking you made was for 2 nights stay ,not 3 . You asked to stay one more night and then you cancelled the second day, we did not charged for anything.By the way we had complaints for other guests of the hotel about your fighting and yelling in the room with your son including the day of your departure in the lobby. While you booked by yourself an Uber car which was not arriving due to an incessant rain, we promptly ordered a taxi for you without you requesting.This was a nice help to you from the" sour face owners" as you wrote.Best regardsRoberto,Hotel Celio

Hotel Celio was just a fabulous place for my wife and myself and also for our daughter and grandchildren. Breakfast was just what was needed to start the day walking around Rome. Close to almost every important tourist sight we enjoyed the walks into the the historic city. The staff was always ready to help in any way necessary. Our rooms were well furnished and comfortable.

Hotel Celio is a fabulous property within a few hundred yards of the Colosseum. There are several restaurants steps away as well as a taxi stand and money exchange and ticket office. The staff were all very welcoming and they carried our luggage up and down the stairs to/from our room as there is no elevator. We also enjoyed the roof top terrace with a glass of wine. We loved the authentic Romanesque decor and stunning tile mosaics throughout the hallways. I also must mention their included breakfast as it was truly amazing for a continental! They serve you a warm boiled egg, yoghurt, fresh croissants and other rolls as well as cheese and preserves, fresh fruit, juice and of course cappuccino!!! Everything you need to fill your tank for the days full lineup of activity! Grazie Hotel Celio for an amazing stay! We will definitely return when next in Rome!

The staff were really nice and went above and beyond for us! The area was right next to the Colosseum, great location with lots of nearby restaurants! Facility was very charming. Great rooftop garden, breakfast was delicious.

A lovely, quaint, quiet, small, clean hide-away steps from the Colosseum. Loved everything about this hotel and service. Took plenty of cards to share with friends for perfect place to park your luggage when visiting Rome. Excellent mini-super market steps from hotel. Went back four times for dinner on corner, steps from hotel. Informal, great food and service. Very affordable. All in all, I had three days in a city I know quite well from previous visits, but never like this time: heatwave with daily 101F!!

The hotel was beautiful and comfortable with an amazing breakfast. The only issue we had was with service the day of our arrival. We arrived at 6:30 AM from an overnight train to deposit our luggage per agreement from the hotel and an email exchange with the hotel; however, they seemed unaware of our arrival and very unhappy we arrived this early. This annoyance seemed to trickle down to our actual check-in later that day. There also seemed to be an irritation toward us and our inability to speak Italian.

You arrived early in the morning ,which we knew ,for one night stay You were one of the 100 which arriving so early in the morning at our Hotel. Un séjour enchanteur
Comme nous restions 6 nuits, nous avons été surclassés dans une chambre exceptionnelle. Le personnel est accueillant et serviable, la propreté est impeccable. L'hôtel est idéalement situé, à proximité du Colisée et du Forum.

Das Zimmer hatte nur 1 Steckdose. Es war eng, das Fenster gleich über einem Bett, weswegen wir in der Nacht nicht lüften konnten. Auch der Teppichboden war nicht so toll. Die Dusche war sehr gut und das Frühstück ok.

The location to the Collisuem and local Cafes, Bars was a big plus. Accessible too to buses and close to Rome’s Termini Train Station. The rooms are clean and have the look of as if I was invited to spend the night at the Papal Residence and that’s a compliment. The breakfast they offered was very good, I’d surely recommend to family & friends and will be back for sure. Very friendly staff.

A quaint Hotel with a great staff. Places to eat all around. Steps from the coliseum. Our room was very nice and clean. The only con is that the Bathroom was very small but we managed. Breakfast was wonderful and the gentleman serving it could not be nicer. Awesome experience

Hotel Celio is beautiful, well maintained and steps away from the Colosseum, Forum and plenty of restaurants. The staff is great. The mosaic tile floors and the rooftop view of the Colosseum were amazing! We highly recommend staying at the Hotel Celio in Rome.

Lovely and great location, but hotel curfew!
I would recommend this hotel if you want to be walking distance from the Colloseum. Also, you get great privacy because you get your own suite (with a terrace if you request it and if it’s available). It had lovely decor and the staff was super friendly! The only con about this hotel was that you have to leave your key with the front desk each time you leave the hotel (we did this all across Italy) and need to arrange a time to get back to your hotel if it’s going to be late at night (only had to do this at this hotel). We got locked out of our hotel one night. Thankfully a security guard down the street was very helpful and called our hotel to let us back in. Although, it was like 2am, but can you blame us for wanting to be out late while being on vacation...If you don’t want a curfew, it’s probably a good idea not to stay here, but if you don’t mind and want a more authentic Italian experience, then stay here. Nonetheless, we had a good experience. The owner was beyond hospitable and even made us a cappuccino before the complimentary breakfast was available on our first morning there.
