As gold members we should therefore be offered both a free drink and a complimentary upgrade if available. On this particular day the hotel was mostly empty. Upon check-in the person at the front desk entirely refused to provide either rewards although acknowledging that it was clearly stated...

"Great rooms and very clean with easy access to VCU. The mini store is way over priced. Over 8 dollars for one adult beer beverage when there's a multitude of convenience stores nearby where you could buy 6 for that. Im sure they are all out of date because no one would pay that. "
