This was our first time in Orlando, my husband and I traveled with our 11 year old for a cheer comp at ESPN. The location and resort itself were great! We plan to stay at Regal Oaks again next year if her team wins a bid to compete again. Check in was smooth, all the communication from Mary was great. The unit itself was older than pictured, no frills, basic unit. Dated. Clean. Mary sent an email explaining that the unit would have nothing more than basic “starter” things. This was the first VRBO we’ve ever stayed in that had nothing outside of a starter roll of toilet paper for each bathroom and a roll of paper towels. We spent 264 at Publix for everything from toilet paper to dryer sheets to honey and cooking spray and a lot more. We ended up leaving three rolls of toilet paper, half a container of tide, a new roll of paper towels, a box of tissues, cooking spray, honey and skincare stuff as we flew in and couldn’t take anything back with us. The “grill” was too small to cook on and the outside area faces other units so we kept the curtains closed the whole time. We had four other teammates that stayed in other units on the resort. One had a unit that fell below ours but the other three had superb units and fully equipped units. If you are looking for budget friendly and a great location, this unit is that. We enjoyed our stay at Mary’s place and plan to return to Regal Oaks, but next time we will find a unit that provides the usual VRBO amenities in the unit.
