Property is under construction. No warning of that. Not able to use main entrance, poor signage directing you to temporary entrance. Room was mid at best. Carpet was dirty/ stained. Water pressure in shower was slightly more than a trickle. Would not stay here again/ recommend

this was not a four-star hotel whatsoever. it was being remodeled. there is no restaurant as they claimed! toilet paper roll was 1:5 full & from the people b/4 us. no lobby! a small podium tucked away in the back to check in… hard to find it! trash/cigarette butts all over back area. 4 star claim is the BIGGEST JOKE & way over priced. this was a 2 star at best. yuck.

Property is under construction, however there were so many things that were “a miss” with the room. No elevator- so had to carry bags up multiple stairs. Phone in room didn’t work - tried many times to get the front desk, had to call on my cell and no one ever answered. They dropped a brown paper bag at your door in the morning with breakfast - it was two muffins and two OJ cartons - no napkins, nothing to help eat. Coffee maker in room but only had 1 coffee k-cup that was not decaf. Room was small but clean. Could not figure out how to adjust thermostat. When I checked out and told the lady at the front desk that I had been trying to reach them all morning - she never asked why and just told me she was the only one there and was very busy. Do not recommend this property.

We picked the hotel because it was good price within our budget. When we arrived it was a ghost place with the construction workers. We looked around for 20minutes before finding “the lobby” which consist of one small counter in the staircase. The hostess was really nice and friendly. The room was spacious enough and nicely designed. However, the thermostat wasn’t working and the AC was blasting (blocked on 69 degrees). It wasn’t really cleaned under the trash there was a lot of sand, and dust. We asked the lady at the “front desk” to have someone looked after those details. We came back later that night and nothing happened… very unfortunate. The second day, no cleaning happened nor refinished in paper and so on. When we checked out we asked the “front desk” to leave our bag for few hours and the “gentleman” refuses as for excuse that the hotel was fully booked that same day and there was no luggage room to store it. Cherry on the cake.. That was very bad customer experience. Not a recommended hotel!

While the staff is great and helpful and super friendly. The facility is not at its best. I understand that that the hotel is under renovation, however we have had problems with the room keys everyday and it I believe the place is under staffed at times

The room was dirty. The walls, rug and some furniture were all heavily stained. The toilet/shower area was very dirty and the bathroom sink was visibly attempted to be cleaned, but with what must have been dirty cleaning tools. Additionally, the fridge kept things barely lower than room temperature, the coffee machine was broken, and the door - despite being locked - jangled far too much for comfort. Since I only was staying one night and it would have been too expensive to switch hotels last minute, I stuck it out, but will not be returning. Despite these conditions, the front desk staff was very nice.

A couple of girlfriends and I stayed at the Wayfinder for a long girls weekend in Newport. The hotel was unfortunately under construction so we did not get to see the hotel at its full potential but it was still a great stay. The hotel manager was fantastic and very helpful with everything we needed. The hotel isn’t necessarily walkable to downtown Newport but it was a quick 5 minute drive. My friends and I all agreed we would stay at the Wayfinder again but once the remodel is complete.

Hotel is very clean and staff very friendly. Don't get discouraged by the outside appearance, as it's under renovation. Rooms are modern and clean. The area is accesible to the wharf and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

Don’t be discouraged, the outside looks to be under construction and the parking lot had some serious pot holes coming in but the room was really clean and welcoming. Dan met me at the door to check me in and was super pleasant. No restaurant right now but the left a small bag with fruit, muffin and OJ at my door. I was able to snack and have coffee in my room which was perfect. I would totally stay again.

Excellent! They are recovering from a fire so operations are slightly altered. So many thoughtful touches such as complimentary coffee in the pool room as well as the breakfast drop in the morning.

The property was only partially opened after suffering a fire a couple of years ago. They continued rebuilding and opened a section of the hotel that was not affected by the fire. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and professional. The facility was clean and fresh. The rooms were clean and good size. Amenities were a little lacking because of the renovations; but the hotel supplied fruit, juice and muffins to each room in the morning. Will definately stay again

Loved our stay here! I came with two girlfriends for the Newport St Patrick’s Day parade. The construction crew working on one half of the building were very kind and helped direct me to the main entrance. The room was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. Love the Shore Soap Co. products, and the framed Newport themed post cards. You can really tell they are putting a lot of care into this place as it gets restored. Was very sad to hear that there had been a fire here a while back, but they are truly doing their best and it was the perfect place for us to stay! Thank you!

Although we understand that the hotel is still under renovation due to a fire, it would have been good to have at least a place in the hotel to sit and have a hot breakfast. Two apples, two small muffins, and two small orange juices in a brown bag placed on the floor at the foot of your door is not it.

Stayed two nights and there was no maid service. Heater fan was unbearably loud, had to turn off the heat to sleep. Nearly impossible to find an entrance while under construction — signage was ridiculously inadequate.
