Great to be so close to Broadway and Times Square, but the hotel was well insulated to outside noise. Sadly, the hotel was covered in scaffolding which ruined its aesthetic appeal. There was no warning of building work, and there were no views at all!
Staff were excellent, on all counts.
I liked the Diptyque toiletries in bathroom.
Downsides… No tea/coffee making facilities, unless you asked. Even then, you could only have one or the other! One of us is a tea drinker and the other coffee. I was really surprised about this lack of basic necessity in a so-called 5star hotel. The coffee machine was awful and confusing to use! It only costs a few $’s to provide a kettle. Really poor.
The bedding wasn’t good quality, and the synthetic duvet was sandwiched between two sheets. We found that totally weird. It is that much of a saving to not invest in duvet covers?
The rooftop bar was a great place to sit, but the Martinis were the absolute worst we’d ever had. A hotel claiming to be the home of the Martini needs to do better. They were undrinkable.
For position, I’d recommend the hotel, but for amenities it’s very poor.
