The Captains Deck, Steps to the Beach, WiFi

Our beautiful 3BD house is on a large, quiet lot, just one short block to the beach. The Restaurants & Shops on Center St are a ½ mile walk along a neighborhood street. There’s also a nearby playground for the kids. Plus a rooftop “Captains Deck” for looking above tree line and watching the sunset.

The interior is light and bright with skylights, wood floor, and lots of windows in the dining area. With 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and 3 porches, there's plenty of room for everyone.
Check In:
1. Early check in or late check out may result in an additional charge to the guest.
2. We will try to meet you at the house on your arrival. You will be emailed the code the week before your arrival.
During Your Stay:
3. Report problems to the manager
4. Propane tank refills are guests’ responsibility.
5. No "Partying" or loud music. Active noise monitoring systems are installed in the house and will alert me if the noise level is above the set threshold.
6. Please adhere to the maximum occupancy for your house. Additional people may
overwhelm the septic system which is sized to the house.
7. Additional guests must be coordinated with the owner prior to check-in.
8. Hurricane policy. If an evacuation for Folly Beach is ordered by a government
agency you may elect to vacate the property. Notify the manager of your intention to vacate.
You will receive a refund for the prorated portion of your stay covered by the evacuation order.
10. No smoking or vaping within the house. Smoking and vaping are allowed outside the house,
including screened porches. Please ensure all areas are clear of smoking materials on departure.
A $200 charge will be deducted from the deposit if guests smoke or vape inside.
Check Out
11. Remove all items from the refrigerator and set home thermostat at 75 degrees.
12. Wash dishes, strip bed sheets and pillow cases, take out all garbage.
13. Close propane tank valve (under BBQ Grill – turn clockwise).
14. Lock the doors when you leave.
15. Costs resulting from damaged, missing items, or
additional cleaning shall be collected from you. Please be advised: MINIMUM
charge is $100 for ANY repairs, additional cleaning or cigarette butts left outside the home.
16. Payment of the reservation funds indicates acceptance of this agreement. If you cancel this
reservation, the manager will make every effort to find new renters. If he is able to do so, he will
refund the reservation funds up to the amount of rent collected for the cancelled dates from the
new renters. Otherwise, the reservation funds will not be reimbursed.

Family Beach Trip

We enjoyed our stay a lot! The house was convenient to the beach, well stocked and was within walking distance to shops/ places to eat. It was easy to book, communication was good and we were happy we chose this location. Thank you!

Excellent stay

We had an excellent stay at the Captains Deck. Communication from the host was excellent and they had great recommendations for places to eat and things do to in the area. Very close to the beach, and they have some beach chairs and beach toys for guest use. We loved sitting out on the front porch in the evenings.

Southern charmer

Comfortable, quaint and charming property in Folly Beach SC near beach. We stayed with my best friend and her husband, so the layout provided comfort and privacy with the separation of bedrooms and bathrooms. The landscape of mature trees in the front yard with the large porch provided that laidback atmosphere that is needed for a relaxing vacation. We much enjoyed our stay and would book it again.

Winter stay at Folly Beach

Great location on Folly Beach. 1 block from the beach and easy access to the road to Charleston. Very clean. Good communication with property manager. Beach chairs and cart are a nice touch.

Great location - would stay again.

Great spot. It’s like 100 yards from the beach. Just 1 street over but literally a straight shot to the beach walkway from your front door - also away from the crowds, felt very private. Maybe a 10 minute (shaded) walk to town. House is priced fair - Would stay here again. Kevin (property manager) is responsive and have used several times for when we come to Folly - he’s always been accommodating.

Beautiful Setting

This home is conveniently walkable to beach access and to downtown for restaurants, shops, etc. We loved how it is situated among the live oaks and other trees. Such a beautiful setting. There are 3 porches and a crows nest. We spent a lot of time on the back screened porch for meals, cards and napping. And on the large front porch for coffee in the mornings. The layout is perfect with 2 bedrooms and shared bath on one side and the primary suite on the opposite side providing some nice privacy.

Everything as described | Fanstastic spot | Folly Rocks

I felt like I knew what to expect when I found this property based on the host's description and pics. Real life did not disappoint. We fell in love with Folly and will be coming back. One unexpected bonus was a very detailed email from our host spelling out everything we needed to know to enjoy our time. It was very thoughtful and comprehensive. Kevin is great to work with and doesn't ask much of his guests. I will be recommending to friends and family. One last thing... if you are flying in and thinking about not renting a car... definitely look into renting a golf cart! That's all you will need if you are going to spend most of your time on Folly. We ubered into Chucktown a couple times and that was plenty.

Great location!

This was the first time after many visits to Folly that we stayed on West Cooper. Just one block off the beach. Our grandkids loved the little park, climbing on the rocks on our daily beach walk to the pier and downtown! Everything was there for us, chairs, beach toys and shovels, and the collapsing wagon was a game changer in hauling everything to the beach. The house was clean and check in was easy (even a bit early) was great for us after the 17 hour drive with 3 little ones! I would highly recommend this place!

This home was perfect for our stay! We really enjoyed being 1 block from the beach in the quiet neighborhood. The email that was sent before arriving with information about our stay and even tips about the area was helpful, even being repeat visitors to the Folly area.

The house did have a couple areas of improvement but noting major that changed my love for this property. It was in a beautiful area, very peaceful, short walk to the beach and local shops and restaurants, and still had everything we needed to cook at home. When we come back to the area we will definitely stay at this home everytime.

Girls trip!

Perfect for girls trip with sister and two cousins! Stayed here for 5 nights and then went into historic Charleston for 3 nights. Wish we never left here! Perfect location and vacation home! Will miss morning sunrise walks on beach! Hope to be back!

Great location yet beautifully quiet

What a beautiful quaint cottage. The house sits back among the trees with a large front porch perfect for gathering or reading. The kitchen has clean newer appliances, as well as all the necessities. A cute back deck where we enjoyed a meal or two. The family room was cozy and had great seating options. The beds were comfortable. A quick walk to the beach as well as a 10 minute walk to town. Fresh flowers and snacks were a beautiful welcome.

Great House and Perfect Location

My business partner and I both stayed here with our families while we were in town for a long work weekend. The proximity to beach access can't be beat without being on the beach and the walk to everything on Center St. was very short. The house was perfect for our group.

Great Location - Would Stay Again

The location was better than expected. In less than 5 minutes and you can be set up on the beach and enjoying the sand, waves and sun. Walking to the "downtown" area was also a relatively short walk but no sidewalks. Kitchen was also well stocked (pots, pans, knives, etc) which was a nice surprise. Property was as described and consistent with pictures.

A lovely home in the perfect location!

You can't really ask for a better location if you aren't beachfront. Literally steps from the beach access, this home makes it easy to dip your toes, take a stroll, or spend the entire day basking in the sand and sun. It's nicely appointed, clean, and was plenty of space for a family of 4. We will check availability of this house first when we return to Folly!
