"This was our third trip to the Valentine. This time we stayed in the new Dunas suites and they were amazing. The entertainment staff is top-notch at this resort. Special shout out to Isreal, Carlos, Shari and Pablo. We look forward to returning again soon with our adult children. The food at this resort is wonderful. I see some negative reviews on the food, but I think if you are a “hamburger and fries” kind of person this is probably not the resort for you. Valentin offers a beautiful relaxing...

"We had a wonderful short stay at the Belmond Maroma to celebrate our engagement. The staff and their service were top notch. In particular, Emanuel took great care of us. The spa was wonderful for both treatments and some time in the hot/cold plunges, steam and sauna. "Et udemærket Hotel, men efterhånden noget slidt.. personale er ikke indlevende og viser ikke særlig interesse i at hjælpe og guide, de kunne sagtens give en bedre helhedsindtryk ved at "være mere tilstede" dog fik vi altid en super fin betjening ved forgenmaden! Det er synd at alle hoteller og komplekse i området er så indelukket og man ikke kan gå frit rundt.. strand er meget sten og klipper.. "

"Staff unfriendly at check in. Most places were not open. All rooms were rented had issues, chili g smoke detectors, that took two days to fix, broken phone, toilet and shower. Room decor for birthdays were not done, mine said happy honeymoon and I came solo. Just overall very dissatisfied with this resort. They need customer service help."

"The hotel is beautiful and the pools were very clean and well maintained. The grounds were very well kept and they attempted to clean up the sargassum best they could given the circumstances. However, the food was far below expectation. We frequently struggled to find something to eat and items on the buffet were cold despite being there the second that it opened. "It is a new construction, the room was amazing, really clean, with ocean view, the pool really nice. The only thing that it was a big minus is that the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room, we notified the front desk clerk and went to our room to try to fix it but couldn't be fixed and in that area my phone didn't have good reception there, other than that it was great. "We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels."

"Very nice room and environment. The beds were very hard, but we loved everything else about the room. Breakfast was good and we could order it in advance so they could prepare it and we didnt have to wait. Very good service overall!"

The was water leak in the bathroom, our phone shower wouldn’t stay in its place, and there were tiny ants crawling around the bathroom sink. With all that said, room wad clean and we had a comfortable bed. I liked the private pool in our area."

" Booked this property last minute, got on a flight down there, took a taxi to the property only to find out they canceled the reservation. I never received any notification and it took me contacting them to have them tell me they cancelled it. Here we stand, a family of 5 with no place to stay. Had to take a taxi back to the airport and get booked on the soonest flight back home. I would not recommend staying here, and Expedia was no help either, all they said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. "
