“Summer Moon, Ricefield Sunset front Private Pool”

Summer Moon is a beautiful private villa nestled in village rice fields, 10 minute drive to central Ubud entertainment, shopping, yoga, art and diverse culinary cuisines.

Sensitively designed by a resident Dutch couple using local materials and techniques, this dream-getaway comfortably sleeps 6 guests (and a baby/toddler cot). All 3 bedrooms feature aircon and luxurious four-poster king-sized beds draped romantically with netting, European mattresses, natural down feather pillows and bed covers.

From the secluded upstairs bedroom and private yoga-sunbathing terrace you will catch glimpses of Mount Agung, the sacred centre of Bali, as it drifts in and out of clouds. In the morning you will hear the quacking ducks being let out into the rice fields as the sun rises through the coconut palms which line your private river.

All rooms have ceiling fans, and the Balinese alang-alang (grass) thatched roofs are built to maximize the natural flow of air, capturing beautiful cool breezes. The three indoor-outdoor bathrooms, one with a bathtub, are a real highlight with beautiful local stone tiles and tropical flowers growing beside your shower. Fresh bath linens and flowers add to the air of quiet luxury.

If you feel like cooking Summer Moon has a fully equipped kitchen including a large refrigerator if you need to store special foods or medicines, and our local in-villa Chef, Wayan Suriani is delighted to cook for guests on request with 24 hour notice as well as provide traditional Balinese cooking class for our guests.

With many sites to see in Bali, Summer Moon offers the perfect getaway for those lazy days in-between when a good book and a refreshing swim overlooking the rice fields can offer some much needed peace. The sunsets are always spectacularly different with light shows that never disappoint.

If you want to mix with other guests in the area, there is a larger 14 meter shared pool that includes a shallow wading area for children and sun deck. Or you can wander the rice paddies, enjoying the relaxed, friendly ambience of village life.

We have a dedicated driver, Nyoman, who can be scheduled 24 hours in advance for Ubud outings or longer day tours anywhere on the island that your imagination can take you. We can also reserve a motor scooter at very reasonable rates prior to your arrival.

Summer Moon has a signature, eco-friendly moisturizing spray made from Lemon Grass, Clove and Citronella essential oils to deter unwanted mosquitos and bugs. Additionally, the staff can spray the house during turndown service for you.
