"A lovely stay!We have just returned from a few nights visiting family and friends in and around Newcastle and Sunderland. Saddler's Cottage was a perfect base for our trip. Across the road you have a really good traditional butchers who also sells hot meat sandwiches, you have convenience store for all the little bits. "The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed."

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! "Nice hotel in great location with the beach just opposite and a 10 min walk to Tynemouth center :) Service in bar / restaurant were perfect - but there finding a healthy breakfast option is close to impossible. I’m keeping low on kolesterol - but thats hard with that breakfast. So had a plain youghurt and nothing else. Perhaps a porridge would be an easy, healthy and cheap solution? Waiters were kind & attentive :)"
