Lovely apartment in a great location

We stayed in this tastefully remodeled daylight basement apartment for a little over a week. The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The location in a quiet neighborhood of homes near UW was perfect for us. It is very close to a number of excellent markets and eateries. The hosts were perfect: welcoming and available without being in any way obtrusive. We will definitely be checking to see if this apartment is available for our future visit to Seattle.

Bryant’s best

I have stayed at this VRBO numerous times and it is always a pleasure. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and stores. I would highly recommend this property.

Back for a second time

Did a review in April the first time we stayed. This time the weather was much colder. Discovered there is no separate control for how cool/warm it is. (Unless I missed it). Looked for notebook with instructions of procedure for leaving but was't there so I apologize for not remembering what to do. Very nice place to stay. Recommend because of location and cost. Second bathroom is great. Nearby market has great cookies.

Well equipped garden apartment

The suite was very well equipped and furnished. Very pleasant decorations and the neighborhood too. The dining arrangement was a little odd, a high table with backless bar stools. Regular table and chairs would have been more comfortable.

Lovely apartment in a gorgeous neighborhood!

What an ideal VRBO experience. Lori and Kris are outstanding hosts— friendly, communicative, and helpful. The entire apartment is spotlessly clean, modern, roomy and comfortable. Very well stocked with everything you could need, and nice extra touches like motion sensor night lights and high quality appliances. There’s a beautiful gas fireplace which is very cozy on chilly evenings. Thank you ladies! Hope to return one day soon.

Best in the area

My wife and I were visiting our son and his family near the children's hospital. Only about one mile away. Good location. Looked at other properties in the area. This was by far the best value, and unlike another property in the area, didn't want a double security deposit. We met Lori and Kris and their dog Poppy. Never intruded but made sure we let them know if we needed anything . There are lots of signs up warning about hot water, but it was never an issue. Hint: Set shower at 10:00 on faucet for a comfortable shower. The living area is in the basement so you do have to walk down some steps. But it is nothing like a basement, has its own entry, and you don't realize someone is living upstairs. The best places have a binder with helpful suggestions of places to eat, etc. and this was no exception. We have stayed in many Vrbos in the Seattle area over the years and this was the most reasonable. Lots of drawers and closet space. Asked for ice and there was plenty. Made sure we had 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee. If you expect a clean place to stay then this is for you. The location is in a nice neighborhood. With this as an option, I would never stay at a hotel.

Wonderful neighborhood!

This is a cute rental, near UW district. We had traveled for tailgate/birthday party w/UW football game. Rental was very clean, modern and very quiet, located in a wonderful neighborhood-close to Gilman Trail. Owners had just updated the sofa, although all the furnishings appeared new. Although a basement, the area is bright and appealing. The bedroom bath is updated nicely, and a 2nd smaller bathroom is a plus! Also a fireplace! Owners checked in during our visit (not obtrusive) and gave us a couple suggestions for morning coffee and also local dining. We would like to return when our time is our own and we can explore the area more! Thank you, Lori and Kris!

Raves for Ravenna Retreat!

Hats off to Lori and Kris for providing the perfect landing for a weekend get-away to Seattle. The apartment was very appealing, well appointed, and extremely clean. Lori was kind, helpful, engaging, and responsive to our needs and questions. We particularly loved the outside courtyard - a comfortable and welcoming space for happy hour, dining and conversation. Their landscaping is lush and beautiful and Poppy their dog was a delight! Thanks much! We highly recommend!

Love This Place!

Have stayed here several times. Lori and Kris are great hosts. And they have a great place -- everything is very clean and modern -- with all the comforts of home. Even a Nespresso machine with pods! The backyard is beautiful, the neighborhood is quiet with great on-street parking and very close to Met Market -- best cookies on the planet!

A perfect spot. We live in the same neighborhood and rented this for my parents who were visiting us and they absolutely loved it (more than staying with us!). They’ve already decided they want to stay here again on their next visit :). Thanks Lori and Kris for being so gracious.

Hope to return

My husband and I stayed in Lori and Kris’ apartment for a month when we needed to rent someplace close to a relative’s home. It suited us perfectly and we hope that it will be available again when we return to Seattle. We were very comfortable and appreciated how thoughtfully the renovation and furnishing had been done. We had everything we needed with only one exception unique to our situation; one of us was working remotely, and the desk chair wasn’t great for hours of sitting day after day (so we brought in our own chair). The apartment was quiet, and the bed and heavy curtains made sleeping easy. Although we didn’t cook all of our meals, the kitchen was well-equipped and we particularly enjoyed having occasional espressos from the Nespresso. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, but close to places we like; Metro Market is a very good high-end store and, in the other direction, PCC is a good co-op and Grateful Bread is a nice old-school bakery. One facet of the apartment that’s particularly positive in a pandemic is that the furnace has a sophisticated filter on it, meaning that the indoor air isn’t shared between the apartment and the upstairs house until it’s been filtered. It hadn’t even occurred to us to think about that, but someone asked us before we rented the place, and Lori and Kris were very helpful when we posed the question to them. While we were there, they were friendly but unobtrusive and we felt comfortable knowing we could ask them if we needed anything.

Great apartment, great location.

It's just a little north of U-W, on the East side, with very easy parking and a quiet neighborhood. Hostesses keep the apartment extremely clean, with everything you need right there. Close to groceries, restaurants, etc.; not too far from I-5 when you want to get to the rest of Seattle.
