"For being an expensive all inclusive resort , I feel that it lacked amenities. We had a small refrigerator but only for water and sodas, no snacks. I thought all inclusive would have various snacks in your room. Our room did not have a microwave.
Meals at the restaurants were very good, but the buffet was only fair. I would have been very unhappy if that would have been the only place we could get our meals.

"The apartment was luxurious and spacious, very well equipped. The fridge in the kitchen even has an icemaker. The water has improved vastly in St. Martin in recent years, and we had no issues drinking the tab water or using ice cubes from the ice maker at this hotel. The large balcony is where we spent most of our time in the apartment. There is a magnificient look over the sea. The pool is clean, large and has a dive board and a slide. "This was our 3. stay and it has totally CHANGED. We got a room smelling so bad of smoking and no excuse. The location is FANTASTIC by the beach and the smiling girl at the restaurant at night are wonderful. But the staff manager she is full of stories. We bought friends from Europe this time and they were treated so bad-like running after them at the beach with the bill for drinks they already had payed to another waiter. We paid a bill and and then they charged the same bill with our friends...

"Very disappointing. The room was completely run down with peeling paint in the cupboards, things being removed from the walls without fixing and everything made in the cheapest materials. Black hair everywhere and I'm a blonde! False advertisinf with 5 beach bars, deck chairs and many other things.
Great beachfront location and very friendly service."

"Sonesta was alright as a whole. The good things about this resort is the facilities and the options and selections of restaurants, drinks etc. The bad things about the place is definitely the service. I have rarely experienced such bad service on a holiday. The service (or lack thereof) was mainly an issue in the restaurants, where the staff was rude. I even had a waiter rolling her eyes because I asked for a baby chair. "
