Netley Abbey

We have been to this property numerous times. The first time, in 2022 was a great experience. 5 star rating. Our last 4 stays have not been so good. An issue on each occasion, although to be fair it wasn’t the fault of the establishment that a guest had to be evicted by the police in the early hours of the morning! This time our check in could have been better. When asking what time breakfast was simply being told the time would have been more polite than a curt reply “of it’s on there” with the receptionist pointing to the chit confirming our room details. We ordered breakfast to go for the next day. We had an early start. Told it would be ready for collection from reception at 7.30. The receptionist went to get it. Inside the bag was a pre packed cheese and ham sandwich, an apple, a small carton of apple juice and 2 rock hard croissants. Is that for 2 people I asked? We were then told we could go to the breakfast buffet and put our chosen breakfast items into a takeaway container. This we did. Our room was clean but lacking one glass and a bedside table. The complimentary coffee/tea items were not topped up each day. The toilet just about flushed. Don’t get me wrong, we very much like returning to The Warbrook. On the whole the staff are courteous, welcoming and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The breakfast is amazing, but it does seem to need a bit of a boost as something is slipping. Perhaps screening off the skips would be a good start.
