"The check-in was uncomfortable. The lady behind the counter basically seemed like she was having a bad day. I am Danish and forgot my passport, but I had a picture of it on my phone and my American friend offered HIS identification. She did not want that. She made it seem impossible for us to check in. Like we woud have to leave - too bad!
Then she finally called her boss who obviously told her to let us check in!
Other than that, lovely place and lovely service. I wrote them in advance that...
"We had a great stay at Laguna Surf Lodge. Staff were friendly and very attentive. Great ocean view from our balcony. Only minus was that there was no gym available."

"Amazing stay at Laguna Beach. Hotel is quaint and has all the modern amenities needed. Location is central and walkable to everything. Loved waking up to the sound of the ocean. Rooms very comfortable. I am picky about beds and the bed was great! Slept very well. Highly recommend. "

"We booked this specific property because we had our furry friend with us and their pet fee was reasonable. Once we arrived, we were very pleased with the property and we walked to the Pageant. So convenient and walkable to restaurants & bars. We had an ocean view which had a patio. Very relaxing. Parking was included. We will definitely be back!"

"The hotel and grounds are outstanding. the service around the main pool was exceptional. Lots of staff that were very attentive to guests needs. The Studio restaurant was one of the best we dined at. All the other restaurants on the grounds were very good. Only area for improvement if possible is the valet area took long time to get car when they have weddings etc taking place..Suggest they re design have 2 lanes .
