"Perfekt beliggenhed i Gion, traditionelt hotel (ryokan), men samtidigt moderne, stort værelse, meget venligt og serviceminded personale, fint onsen (spa) og sjovt at få udleveret yukata (hjemme-kimono) og forskellige tøfler til hhv. gangarealer og toilettet."

"My daughter and I stayed here for one night and stayed in the Japanese style room. It was very comfortable and we had the traditional breakfast in the morning. The food was ok it wasn't to my daughters liking, but I enjoyed mine. The only negative I could say is that Expedia did not inform us of the extra $90CAD we had to pay for the Tourist Tax. Apart from that the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean and well maintained."

"We stayed 2 nights at this ryokan. It was a real japanese experience. Nice and very kind staff. The rooms are great, large, and decorated in autentic japanese style. We were welcomed with tea. The service is in top. You sleep well on the futon. We had breakfast included, very japanese but also very delicious. However, there are certain dishes that may be difficult for an European to eat in the morning. They speak some english. We can highly recommend a stay at Kagihei"

"Beautiful Ryokan inside and out. We were met with very friendly staff, and the check in was quick and efficient. Our pampered backs were not used to the Japanese futons, but this wasn't a problem at all. Sawaya supplied extra layer of futons without question. Sawaya offers seperated public baths in the mornings and evenings. Great way to relax after a long day of walking through Kyoto."
