Old good hotel
Old good hotel. Good location for ski in/ski out. Ski depot is small. Room could be organized in practical way and furniture could be refreshed. Spa is simple one.

The rooms had lots of storage space for luggage. Beds and pillows were a bit hard but ok. No safe to lock valuable stuff in. Dinner was good but serving hours a bit short. Not the best service in the restaurant and in the reception. Nice spa!

Be Warned
As a family of 6 we did a lot of research before going to Gudauri. Carpe Diem website promises a swimming pool, a sauna and a bar. Three things important to our family holidays. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived to find no bar at all and a pool and sauna still under construction! Communication is much to be improved as we were told every day by the reception staff that ‘the pool will be open tomorrow’! False promises and fake smiles. The resort is isolated from the village and without a bar it is a real inconvenience to walk 20 mins every night to the Ski Village for a decent bar. The food is poor. Cold chips and pasta on offer at breakfast! The coffee machines are painfully slow and guests queue for a half cup. Popular dishes are not replaced quickly enough and anyone late for breakfast will find odd scraps only. The ski hire shop was also still under refurbishment and the staff lacked all knowledge of the resort ski runs and lifts open etc! Simple basic conveniences had been overlooked. Eg. Mirrors in the rooms, hooks in the bathroom to hang towels, no curtains at the upstairs bedroom windows, no thought given to fire escapes in the upstairs bedroom (of exec suites). The GM was hugely apologetic and empathetic but that only goes so far and sadly the owners do not appear to be listening or empowering him to improve the situation and save the poor reputation of this resort hotel. Give this one a miss for another 6 months would be our advice

We did have a bar but removed the information about it from our website and all booking websites the day we started the renovation. The spa centre is now up and running and I hope you will visit us again to check it out. Our hotel holds the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for establishing and applying a Quality Management System. As part of the process of acquiring the certificate, we implemented the safety and security system, including the signs for the fire escapes. Your comments regarding the food are heard and I will deliver them to our team. I would like to personally meet and greet you should you decide to give us another chance in the future. Greit nok med kort avstand til det ene skitrekket. Savnet det sosiale.. Vil du se mer mennesker og ha litt variasjon i kosten er New Gudauri et mye bedre alternativ med flere hoteller, restauranter, barer og butikker. Herfra kommer du i tillegg til en bedre posisjon i skianlegget med gondolen.

The website promises a pool a sauna and a bar however, sadly none of these things were available. The food is poor and rooms lack basic things like a mirror, hooks for hanging wet towels, curtains and decent pillows!

Nice views of the mountains. Central location in the ski area. Nice rooms. Would have been nice with some furniture on the balcony. Dinner was ok, but not more. Breakfast was not very good

Really difficult to find in the dark as the road leading to the hotel has no lights, is unpaved, and large vehicles blocking the "driveway road". The credit card machine was not working upon arrival. I arrived after dinner service was finished (times were not posted on the Expedia website), although I had "half board" included in my rate, however, the reception staff ensured that I could have a sandwich. Room was small but comfortable, however, the floor had multiple stains. Wifi worked consistently, breakfast was standard. Staff were helpful and kind. Okay for a budget stay.

Fint hotell med god mat och bra läge i backen.
Positivt: Bra läge väldigt nära lift. Rent och snyggt hotell. God mat (middag ingick för oss). Bra frukost Trevlig bastu Negativt: Alldeles utanför vårt rum fanns soffor där det satt högljudda gäster varje kväll. Tillsammans med lyhörda dörrar var detta lite jobbigt. (Vi fick receptionen att få dem att flytta sig. Andra gånger fick vi säga till själv).

The employees of the hotel were extremely friendly and always keen to help us with anything we needed. The breakfast was great, many options and more than enough. I loved the balcony in our room, the staff was happy to bring us chairs to the balcony. We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We would definitely stay there again. The only minus was, that it was quite expensive during the new years week and that you could smell the canalization from time to time in the bathroom.

Everything is great, especially the staff. They are one of the most helpful team I have experienced. They provide 2 meals a day, which are very good food in every meal. Their food is delicious. The cleanliness is very impressive. I will totally come back here again.

Mediocre hotel, but good enough for ski holiday
pros: - staff were extremely friendly, nice and accommodating - my husband and I showed up very early the first day (before their front desk was open) and they tried to help us with our car which wasn't making it up the frozen street, and let us lounge about in their lounge area and leave our stuff there once it was time to go skiing - great proximity to the slopes - ski shop attached so easy access to ski rentals (good prices) - nice dining area - boots room with lockers - warm inside :) cons: - road to the front door should be flattened out (lots of potholes! difficult to navigate esp when icy) - breakfast and dinner were included in the price, but they were not very good... I would rather have a cheaper stay and pay for my own food and it be decent quality - rooms smelled like sewage most of the time we were there - beds were not super comfortable although we managed, also the sheet on the mattress was not fitted and the bed would be uncovered most of the night which was really annoying

Неплохой отель, находиться в 3 мин ходьбы от подьемника, на лыжах можно спуститься с горы к отелю. Номера чистые, ванная просторная (с душевой кабиной), есть мыло, гель для душа и шампунь. Можно попросить банные халаты-вам их принесут. Номера стандартные нетесные, есть минибар, телевизор. Чайника и сейфа нет. Не во всех стандартных номерах есть балкон- хотя в описании написано, что во всех. Советую брать номера на 3-4 этажах, там вроде везде балконы, есть лифт. В отеле есть бесплатная сауна, бар-дискотека с караоке (народу немного обычно), делают кальян. Есть комната для хранения лыж (без сушки для ботинок). Советую заранее в Тбилиси менять валюту и закупаться вином, т.к. До обменника и супермаркета 3 км и курс обмена плохой (можно спустьться к ним на подьемнике и подняться обратно, работает подьемник до 17.00). В отеле шведский стол качественный, но не скажу что очень разнообразный- на ужин два вида мяса, два гарнира, сыры, закуски, пара салатов, овощи, хачапури, фрукты порезанные, выпечка. Винная карта и другой алкоголь -за деньги. В общем неплохой отель, но и не дешевый.

Good hotel overall, but check your booking!
Good hotel, but was expecting more for a suite that we had booked. We were placed in a triple or a large double on arrival being told it was the room we had booked, although it did not match the specs on the booking: 2 single beds as opposed to a double bed, no balcony, etc.... #103, was just next to reception and lobby and the lounge area and hearing the music and some nights karaoke from the disco located one floor down til 2.00am. After complaining a couple of times they managed to change us room for the last 2 nights. In a suite this time! What a difference.... we would not recommend any room on the ground floor. Food is good and local. They could serve the dinner a bit later ( it is 6.00-8.00), and the hot dishes were sometimes cold. Great loation just on the slopes. Will come back to Gudauri but maybe will try another hotel. Good service overal and very clean, beds comfortable. Nice sauna area.

A hotel with a view.
A nice cozy hotel n friendly staff. We had a nice stay with the family n comfortable. Only the Breakfast n Dinner spread is less than adequate. Dinner spread is less than Bfast spread and practically nothing was there. They definitely need to improve the quality of food since not many options available nearby. The views are amazing and they have a nice movie theatre for the guests.

Great ski area hotel and also good off-season!
This is a ski area hotel with great amenities if you are skiing, but also good for an off-season stop in the mountains on the way to the very popular mountain towns a little bit north. The rate comes with full hot breakfast and full hot dinner buffets which were good. The staff was excellent and very helpful and friendly, and most spoke English well.
