"We booked The Patios du Marais through Hotels.com for a family stay and had to leave the same evening we arrived as it represented a health risk. From the moment we entered the apartment, there was visible mold in multiple areas. The smell and condition were immediately noticeable. We documented everything with photos. My husband has a mold allergy. Within a short time inside the apartment, his symptoms started and quickly got worse. Watching that happen, with our child there, we had to make a decision fast. Staying was not an option. We contacted the host immediately. They denied everything. No acknowledgment. No concern. No solution. We then reached out through the platform. No response. No support. Nothing. We were left alone to deal with a situation that should never have happened in the first place. We had to find and pay for another place the same night, under stress, simply to protect my husband’s health. Both the host and the platform failed to respond or take responsibility And this is not about expectations. This is about basic safety, honesty, and accountability. We trusted what was presented to us and what the platform stands for. That trust was not just broken. It was ignored. If you are traveling with family, have any health sensitivities, or expect a minimum standard of care, take this seriously before booking."
