The only small downside was that it was a bit far to walk to the city center since the bamboo bridge was closed due to construction. "It was a great stay at Cold River. The staff made us feel very welcome and at home. They very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located nicely if you are ready for a little walk to get to the center of Luang Prabang (maybe 10-15 min. walk). It is nice that it is more by itself - quiet and peaceful. Great breakfast. The only thing was the hard pillows - but minor detail."
