Elm Cottage - a charming traditional stone cottage with 2 bedrooms on Arniston Estate

  • Newly refurbished and located on the stunning Lime Avenue drive to Arniston House Elm Cottage is one of 4 charming stone cottages which housed the foresters for the Estate in days gone by. Set in a sunny tranquil courtyard the cottages overlook fields to the north. The cottages also have an area of peaceful garden for visitors' use. A timeless place to relax in the country yet only 30 minutes from the center of Edinburgh with all its attractions. An ideal base for families with pets.

    Elm Cottage has one double or twin room and shower room on ground floor level. Upstairs is a king bedroom with a shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped including an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The cosy sitting room has a wood burning stove with logs and kindling provided free of charge by the estate woodlands. A Freeview TV, DVD player and Wi-Fi are provided to entertain you during a relaxing break.

    Ground floor: Entrance hall, sitting/dining room with wood burning stove. Well equipped kitchen. 1 king or twin bedroom, shower room with WC and wash hand basin and spacious shower cubicle.
    First floor: 1 king or twin room with comb ceiling. Shower room with WC and wash hand basin and separate shower cubicle.

Great stay in a beautiful and peaceful location!

We had a great stay at Elm cottage. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. We had couple of hiccups re internet and hot water but Henrietta speedily resolved these and all was well! We're looking forward to re visiting in August.

June heat wave weei

Very happy with cottage and location. Lovely interesting visit to Arniston House, great to meet three generations of the family who gave interesting history talk. Also visited Rosslyn Chapel, very interesting. Sterling castle lots to see as we love history, recomend park and ride. Edinburgh travelled in by train this was ideal . Took a tour bus around the city and visited art gallery.

Perfect location

We’ve stayed at Arniston estate on numerous occasions, its location is perfect for getting into Edinburgh with the park and ride railway station only a 5 minute drive. It is also easy to explore the Scottish Borders. Its quiet and peaceful and offers everything you need.

Coming from the U.S. and communicating with the host was very easy and seamless. Letting her know that we would be arriving late made it easy to prepare for the check in process. There is a key box at the door. It was pitch dark at the property and I would suggest dim lighting if possible. We didn’t know what to expect and I’ll just say we rushed to get in the cottage. Beautiful property, cozy cottage and we would definitely stay there again. Full kitchen, WiFi, lot of room!!

Elm tree was perfect for are requirements as it was so lovely and quiet at the location.And nice and close to we’re we wanted to visit on a daily basis.The only slight issue was that the log burner wasn’t the most efficient that I have dealt with.But a beautiful place and location

Beautiful location, fantastic cottage

We stayed here for my wifes birthday, we did a trip to edinburgh, and it was an easy 30 minute drive in to town (princes street parking is the most reasonably priced if you are doing the same) great showers at the end of long days. Henrietta was very helpful and everything went extremely smoothly. 100% will stay here again on our next trip
