På hotel Stern Am Rathaus føler du dig ventet og velkommen allerede inden du ankommer. En fin lille personlig mail for at aftale, hvis du har en sen ankomst. Super venlig velkomstbrev når du ankommer. Pengene hotellet sparer på ikke at være 24/7 bemandet i receptionen har de brugt godt på service, lækker morgenbuffet og dejlige værelser. Man kan mærke at folkene kan lide deres sted, og det smitter af på dig som gæst. Kommer jeg til Køln igen, vælger jeg uden tøven dem igen. I sandhed en lille stjerne bag rådhuset.

This hotel has the best location, it’s quiet, clean, comfortable, safe, and the breakfast was so delicious, beautiful, and had a wide variety of foods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!

Stern am Rathaus A small hotel well located, near the cathedral, the Ludvig Museum, the Philaharmonic, and the train station. Friedndly staff eagar to help are available from 6 AM to 6 PM. There is NO ELEVATOR, There is no electrical outlet near a mirror. the first floor is one floor up. The breakfast is on the ground floor and is excellent. The room is small, clean and well appoiiiiinted. The TV is small and there is only one channel in english. Very expensive for what you get.

Ein kleines gemütliches Hotel mit familiärer Atmosphäre. Super freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter und ein traumhaftes Frühstücksbuffet. Sehr schnell vom Hbf aus zu erreichen, die Innenstadt und viele Restaurants und Museen sind in Laufweite. Trotzdem ist es nachts sehr ruhig, da das Hotel in einer kleinen Seitenstraße liegt.

Wow, I haven't stayed in a hotel with this level of convivial service and welcoming atmosphere since "the before times." Andy, the proprietor, is truly a gem, someone who clearly loves their job and does it with kindness and care. The rooms are spacious for a standard size, and everything is thoughtfully designed, even if the aesthetics are a bit utilitarian (though this is Cologne, there aint much of the pre-war grandeur left). The breakfast is bountiful and cookies are on offer all hours of the day. I didn't know what to expect from our Cologne weekend adventure, but I can tell you it was delightfully influenced by the loveliness of the folks at Stern am Rathaus.

With a last minute booking to Cologne we could not have made a better choice. Excellent location from central station, slept smoothly in the great bed and enjoyed a great breakfast.

The staff were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. We were invited to their social hour which included free drinks and Christmas biscuits. The room was excellent and had a kettle, which is unusual in Europe. We also had a fridge. Just around the corner from the nearest Christmas market, and just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff in this small city hotel.

A wonderful little boutique hotel. Both Francisco and Carla (spelling?) went over and above to answer our questions about the history of the area and the hotel. Very comfortable, Very quiet. Superb breakfast !!! The only negative is that there is no elevator. They will help with the luggage but it will be difficult with someone with mobility issues. Thank you again for a great stay!

Friendliest staff ever, great little hotel
This is a very nice little hotel in Köln. The hotel seems brand new on the inside. It is very clean, well decorated, quiet, comfortable, and the staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is great, many options, including fresh ones and hot options. Everything is carefully organized. I travel a lot to Cologne, and this was definitely one of the best short stays I've had there. And by far, this is the one with the friendliest staff I have ever experienced. I will stay for sure in this hotel again when coming back to Cologne, which I'll probably will. Only two things to pay attention: 1) reception does not work 24/7 (it only works until 6 p.m. although they make check-in work anytime); 2) as it is common with small hotels in Cologne, there is no elevator (something to be mindful if you have a lot of bags and/or difficulties with staircases).

Great service and a fabulous breakfast!
We were treated like members of the family throughout our stay, from the initial arrival instructions through to helping us with a query about our return train time on the last morning. Rooms are large by city centre standards, with loads of extras. You can do your bit for the planet by opting to reduce the cleaning routine or by extending the life of your towels. There is loads of choice for breakfast, with some items cooked to order. We were there for 4 nights, so it was great that the breakfast varied a little from day to day. The hotel is very close to the station and many museums and other attractions. There are loads of restaurants and cafés in the same area.

You wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Cologne
This hotel is absolutely perfect for a stay in Cologne. Turn left out of the hotel and walk 20 yards to steps that lead down the side of the Rathaus and into the AltMarket.. Turn right out of the hotel and you are at the Dom in just a few minutes. Not only is the location excellent, the staff are brilliant too. Keen to make sure your stay is the best it can be.. Breakfast was an absolute delight with a number of little touches including scrambled eggs if wanted, home-made cherry pancakes and a great selection of rolls, hams, cheeses, toast, coffee etc. Ingmar and the team are just excellent.

Wonderful stay in Cologne, thanks Clara & Kai
Comfortable, modern, and spacious room with modern amenities right in the heart of Cologne. The breakfast was great and thanks. We were well taken care of by Clara and Kai. They were both so friendly and helpful. The only negatives was we were on the top floor with no elevator. Also we had a loft suite and were comfortable on the main floor with great AC but it did not reach the loft suite upstairs.

I had a lovely time staying here, very close to the Central station and the Cathedral, lots of shopping, restaurants and other amenities. The breakfast was amazing, the staff are very friendly. My room was bright, spacious and cheerful, I could see the Cathedral from the window. The church bells chiming in the night was very calming and peaceful. I would love to stay here again.

This is a highly rated property and it is well deserved. The location is right in the centre of Cologne and the hotel is clean and comfortable. The thing though that really sets this hotel apart is the staff. The people working there are super nice and helpful. Clara at the front desk took the time to provide me with great advice on the things to see in the city beyond just the standard tourist spots and got me a great coffee from their cafe while she arranged for me to get into my room early after having a long international flight. Breakfast was also great, with a range of things like french toast, latte's, etc. I highly recommend Stern am Rathaus!!!

We loved the location - centrally located near the cathedral, Rhine, and many restaurants, shops, and pedestrian areas. It was an easy walk of about 10 min from the train station. The breakfast was terrific with a variety of homemade and carefully prepared foods. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A great value.

We travelled to Cologne for New Year and were greeted at the hotel with a friendly welcome and coffee. The hotel is small but very close to the cathedral and the Rhine waterfront. The staff were brilliant and the breakfasts first class. Far better than the soulless corporate hotels.

Lovely small hotel in the heart of the old town with fabulously friendly service, clean rooms, a comfortable bed and a really good breakfast. The little cherry pancakes were wonderful.

We stayed 4 nights in the junior suite. The location was around 5 minute walk to the main train station and minutes away from a couple of Christmas markets. The room was clean and comfortable. Our suite had a tub and shower and the bathroom was a very good size. The mezzanine was perfect for our 6 year old son and the view is superb. The breakfast buffet was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint! The staff cooked scrambled eggs for us if we didn’t want the boiled eggs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Ingmar and Andy took the time to interact with us and our 6 year old son looks forward every night to coming back to the hotel to look for Ingmar and Andy. They seemed like our long lost friends! We would love to stay here again next time we visit Cologne!

This is a hidden diamond!! Lovely modern rooms with everything you could wish for and even the out of hours check in, it's so simple! The staff are amazing and what an amazing breakfast!! I travel a lot with work but I can say this little privately owned gem beats the big guys hands down for service!

Das Hotel ist wirklich super. Sehr zentral, vom Bahnhof fußläufig bestens zu erreichen, und dennoch sehr ruhig.Man wird sehr herzlich empfangen und bekommt den ein oder anderen wertvollen Tipp. Das Frühstück ist unschlagbar. Eine super Auswahl und Rühr-oder Spiegelei wird frisch zubereitet. Das ganze Buffet wurde sehr liebevoll gestaltet. Ich kann dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und werde bei meinem nächsten Köln Besuch sicher wieder hier einchecken.
