Room was fine, not a lot anywhere near other than a subway. Main problem was lack of fresh air, no windows that open even slightly and air con was really noisy. Room too hot even in cool weather

Initial issue with key, but staff were very apologetic and got it sorted quickly. Resturant for the hotel is just over the road, but again, good service and food was spot on. Room was comfy and quiet, just what is needed after a day at work.

The overall condition was great. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only downside was the beds were uncomfortable and the heating in the room was hard to turn off so heatwave all night.

The dining was restricted to one outlet, the food was good but limited in choice.

Surprisingly decent place to stay despite being right on the M4. I expected a poor venue but the hotel is modern and clean and the staff excellent. Very convenient, easy free parking and some nice villages nearby. A fantastic Indian nearby in Magor and nice village pubs too.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that your experience was hindered due to some rooming issues. I am aware that you spoke to our team during your stay and the housekeeping were quick to recitify any issues. For sustainability reasons, we keep 1 towel in the wardrobe to prevent over useage of towels, however, i am sure the team would have been happy to provide you with extra if requested.

Good value and comfortable
Situated just off the M4. Ty Magor is the budget option of the group of hotels operated by Celtic Manor. If you just need a clean, comfortable bed, soft towels etc, with convenient access to Newport, Cardiff or Bristol this is for you. The staff are helpful and breakfast is ok for £10 extra. I have stayed several times when visiting family nearby and it’s the first place I check for accommodation, as it provides good value comfort and convenience.

Soul-less place outside town in developing business park. Nothing around it, nowhere to eat. we were on top floor where apparently they had recently had bits blown off roof in mega-storm. we were disturbed all night by noises from roof as still strong winds from Bristol channel.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. The area we operate on is just off the M4 so although the business park is relatively quiet, we are a perfect destination if travelling through. We have Sawyers Bar and Grill in the same area which opens Monday to Friday, as well as a few pubs and restaurants just a 20min walk into Magor. Regarding the storm, i am sorry this affected your stay but all properties can experience weather related issues and we have tried to mend this as quickly and efficiently as possible. Although made clear in the subject, i do hope you choose to visit us again.

Dont buy the breakfast
Breakfast was really bad. Save yourself the money and go to McDonalds instead. Hotel itself wasn’t that bad though.

I have stayed here a number of times since it was built and over time I have noticed that it's becoming more dated each time I've visited. The most recent visit showed the room we were given had a number of maintenance issues (bathroom door not working, mold in bathroom). In addition, we asked to change rooms as there was a buzzing noise from outside the front door. When calling reception I noticed the phone receiver was also dirty. We were given a new room by the friendly staff but the replacement bathroom also had signs of mold in the bathroom/sealant issues.

Room and bed were very comfortable, a little bit of road noise from the motorway, but that’s to be expected given how close the hotel is to the M4. I would avoid the breakfast, it was a bit disappointing, the hash browns were soggy! Coffee was good tho! I would stay here again

Sostanzialmente più che positivo
L’hotel è accanto all’autostrada, posizione pertanto comoda anche per decisioni last minute, quando non si vuole più fare strada. Ampio parcheggio. Camera sufficientemente grande. Materassi comodi, ma cambierei i cuscini troppo molli. In bagno ottimi i prodotti per l’igiene, la porta di accesso è scorrevole e libera uno spazio per riporre i vestiti. Pulizia ottima, aria condizionata perfettamente funzionante e silenziosa. La colazione offre ampia scelta e i prodotti sono buoni, la sala moderna, ottimo servizio: appena i clienti si alzano dal tavolo arriva subito qualcuno a pulire. Un difetto in camera è il sistema di illuminazione poco indipendente tra i vari punti luce: ci sono poche soluzioni alternative, o si spegne tutto o si spegne parzialmente ma in un solo modo (resta accesa solo la luce vicina al letto. Ci sarebbe lo spazio per mettere una TV più grande.
