Recently it was recovered and classified as National Monument. It is also considered World Heritage by UNESCO. A place full of history and that was cradle of Portugal. It is no wonder that in a piece of the original wall has the words "Here was born Portugal".

Guimarães is a city located in the district of Braga, in northern Portugal. It is a historic city associated with the foundation of the nation and Portuguese identity, with more than a thousand years since its formation, when it was referred to as Vimaranes.
