"Great place to stay!We stayed here as two families and had a fantastic time. After a great day snowboarding up the mountain, we enjoyed a lovely family dinner together. The kitchen is well set up with high-quality cookware, and the spa and drying room facilities are excellent. It’s just a short walk into town, where we even caught Drax Project playing at the Powderkeg. Highly recommend!"

"We were up at Waimarino to ski for the week with our two young children, the house was a perfect little bolt hole when weren’t on the mountain!Our only issues were that while there was a log burner and wood for it, unfortunately the wood was all rather damp and there was no way to chop any smaller kindling to even get the fire going, thank goodness for the heat pump, so we were all sorted! Also the Freeview box lost signal on our last night, but no biggie, we were all ready for an early night by...

Wouldn't hesitate to book again. The host is very friendly and had the heaters going for us by the time we got there."

"Chilled-out place in a quiet little village — super peaceful and comfortable. Only 30 mins to Turoa and 45 mins to Whakapapa, so it’s a great base if you’re heading up the mountain. Great value and perfect for a relaxed trip! "

Rocky Mountain Chalets

10/10 Fremragende

"Super cozy chalets located ~10 minutes walk from the center of Ohakune. Two separate bedrooms and a large living room provides a great setting for down-time if you need a break from exploring the gorgeous surroundings. The chalet has a functional kitchen, but Ohakune has an excellent selection of restaurants for people who - like us - are too lazy to cook. We can especially recommend the Mountain Rocks café for breakfast. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived, and given great recommendations of which walks best fit our desires for waterfalls and general fitness. All in all, a terrific experience, and we'll definitely be back!"
