Yurta Love!

Amazing!
We had a super great stay here! The property was clean and cute. Although my boyfriend and I were only able to stay 1 night, I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will hopefully come back sometime soon for longer!

We really enjoyed staying here and hope to come back someday! We are from CO and used this as our overnight stay when going to the Balloon Fiesta and it was great. Easy to find, bed is SOOO comfortable, safe and away from the city. Loved it.

Find Your Peace at the Yoga Yurta
The Yoga Yurta is a great place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle and reconnect to calm. It's exactly as advertised...a super comfortable bedroom that happens to be in a canvas walled yurt. Fall asleep looking up at the stars through the large clear plastic dome in the center of the roof while in the silent foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Enjoy watching the sun set and rise from your private, carefully created, maintained, and comfortable outdoor spaces, then enjoy the rest of the shared grounds. Only 25 minutes from the Albuquerque Airport, but a world away. Gregory is a kind, generous and welcoming host, and we look forward to staying again.

Rest & Relaxation at its best!
Our stay at the Yoga Yurta was one that we will remember for a lifetime. Gregory was an excellent host, so friendly and helpful. The yurt was decorated beautifully, so cozy and eclectic, we absolutely loved the uniqueness of the entire property. Sunny Mellow is a wonderful oasis, which offers privacy and a peaceful stay. We were able to look at the stars from the property. The bed was super comfy in the yurt, and the temperature was perfect. The bathroom facility and shower was outside, just a very short walk from the yurt. It felt refreshing and rejuvenating to shower outdoors. We had such a wonderful time. When we come back to New Mexico, we will definitely book again at Sunny Mellow!!

Basecamp to adventure!
We midwesterners visited New Mexico for the first time and chose this little spot to be the base for our adventures. It was perfect! It is right down the street from the Catholic Church so we were able to go to daily Mass and then headed out to explore something different each day. Gregory & Robbie will not steer you wrong! Every restaurant they recommended or sight to see lived up to the expectations. Everything here was clean, organized, comfortable, and yes it IS an adventure to have an outdoor kitchen and bathroom, but isn't that what vacation is for? Don't be worried, you CAN do it. (indoor girl talking here...). The property really is the nicest little sanctuary and we loved greeting each morning to birdsong instead of hotel noises. We can't wait to return someday!

Peace and tranquility
Me and my husband drove in after dark and weren't sure how to get there, but we called Greg and he stayed on the phone with us until we were on the property. He met us in the driveway and walked us to the property. He showed us where everything was and was so helpful. This property is so beautiful and relaxing. We sat in comfy chairs looking up at the stars and just relaxed. The bed is so comfy and we felt like we were outdoors with all the comforts of indoors. We did not turn on the tv or get on our phones once. The ultimate relaxation. We hope to come back! Thank you Greg!

An Oasis!
The host gave us excellent directions and was very kind. We enjoyed our stay and it was so nice to be able to see the stars through the skylight in the yurt! An outdoor shower in the morning is an excellent start to the day. I wish I had a chance to try the sauna! My only caveat would be that covid/sickness doesn’t hold a lot of importance to the hosts (to each their own) so just something to be mindful of if you’re looking to stay as an immunocompromised person. Would absolutely stay here again, though, and would recommend it to friends!

Slice of paradise !
My partner and I had a wonderful staycation in the yoga yurt! It was the perfect blend of outdoors and comfort. Perfect traveling distance for visiting Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or just staying in Tajeras. Greg was fantastic about supplying ideas of what to do as well! We couldn’t have asked for a better escape.

Another great stay
This is the second time my wife and I stayed at the Yoga Yurta at Sunny Mellow and it was even better than the first. The owner, Greg, expertly balances engagement and responsiveness with guest privacy. The yurt itself is a perfect balance as well: we could enjoy the outdoors in the shade or the sun and still had a real bed to sleep in. And what a bed it is... We managed to sleep soundly for ten hours each night - that never happens when camping. We'll definitely be back!

Glamping at its best
We were only here for one night, and were sad that we couldn't stay longer. The yurt was cute and quaint. The bed was super comfy. The view from the sitting area above the yurt was amazing. Greg was super friendly and gracious. I would definitely recommend this place for a great glamping experience.

So peaceful and tranquil. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Private and quiet. Loved the outdoor cozy bathroom with a automatic light that goes on. I always wanted to shower outdoors, got this amazing experience here, now we are seriously talking about setting up a shower for us in our backyard. It was a joy to converse with Greg. Yurt was a wonderful experience and would love to come back later this year.

Phenomenal get-away location
This is a wonderful little eco-village in an incredibly well-designed and maintained property. The host, Gregory, provided excellent online support and his wife, Robbie, spent a lot of personalized time showing us around and telling us about all the details. There is so much to do; a yoga platform, walking trails, campfire pit, an adult swing, as well an a beautiful and cozy yurt with an outside kitchen and bathroom. Lovely stay. Thank you!

Nice Space
For someone looking for a little adventure by staying at an unconventional location, this is perfect!! Lots of fun cooking outside. The toilet and shower were a short walk away. They were also "outside" but the shower's hot water came on quickly enough. I only stayed one night but had fun. Would be a great place to spend a few days exploring.

Awesome review of your stay Glen!... Thank you for being our first guest of the 2023 season! With the nights still on the chilly side (40's at this time, but soon to be in the low 60's), it is important to know that the outdoor bathroom is only 33.3 seconds walk to the Hot Water Shower that sports Limitless Views of the rocky cliffs that hug Sunny Mellow in their protective embrace, the vegetable garden, soon to be laden with produce for the guests taking, and the coyotes as they scurry with wily acumen into the forest! We look forward to your said return with your wife to explore the Old West towns that dot the East escarpment of the Sandia and Manzano Mountain ranges, where Billy the Kid among others had their start (He even used the rocky ridge above The Yoga Yurta to post his lookouts for the stagecoach running of Route 66)! :-) Greg

Cozy and relaxing!
We had a cozy, rainy night in the yurt and it was perfect! We loved the beautiful grounds and the tucked away privacy of the yurt. The bed was comfy, the heaters kept us toasty warm, and the outdoor kitchen had everything we needed. It was a peaceful stay.

Luxury glamping
Really unique! Surprisingly warm and comfortable yurt. It rained all night, but had a wonderfully relaxing sleep. Kitchen is outside the yurt, with well appointed supply of cooking equipment. Bathroom is bit farther away, so recommend bring a robe. Only spent one rainy night so unable to fully enjoy the property’s recreation and meditation facilities (fire pit, swing, yoga platform). Host is a welcoming and funny guy. Location is great – just east of Albuquerque, in base of Sandia mountains and at start of the Turquoise Trail. Luxury glamping experience!

It was exactly what we needed, secluded enough to not be bothered by anyone. The outdoor shower was spectacular and the bed was super comfy! It is such a cozy place and we felt so welcomed. The vineyard, orchard and the adult swing was all incredible.

Unique stay in natural setting
We are so happy we stayed at The Yoga Yurta, and the incredible break from highway driving and uninspired travel accommodations it offered. Beyond glamping. The kitchen, immediately outside our door, was way more equipped that we realized, and the shower/toilet facilities were more private and convenient than we imagined. Incredible mountain views from the outdoor chairs overlooking the yurt. Super convenient to Hwy 40, a bit of traffic noise barely intruded on the serenity. Would absolutely stay again.

An absolutely amazing stay. I will be returning anytime I stay in New Mexico. Very welcoming and overall great environment to relax from a long day on the road. Best stay ever!
The Yoga Yurta was fabulous! We arrived later than we planned but Gregory was there to welcome us and gave us a little tour. Even though it was dark, there are lights everywhere to find your way. I wasn’t sure if my husband would like it as I’m more adventurous but he wants to come back and stay for a week! We only stayed one night this time but next time it will definitely be for a week! I can’t wait! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place.

Our host, Greg, was exceptional. He greeted us when we arrived and gave us an informative tour of the property. The Yoga Yurta was privately situated allowing us to enjoy the tranquility of our surroundings and dinner prepared in the outdoor kitchen. The unique outdoor shower and bathroom was just a short walk from the yurt and well lighted at night. There was attention to detail with a bit of occasional humor mixed in. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing stay and look forward to a return visit.

A little taste of heaven
From the moment that the owner greeted us we feel completely at home. It is a gorgeous place with a great view. There are several different areas that you can go to for peace and meditation and a huge deck all completely shaded for yoga. I feel so blessed to have gone!

Instead of staying at one of the cheap hotels in town I stayed here. It was an amazing upgrade to comfortable accomodations, peaceful surroundings and all the conveniences I needed. A different place for sure with an outdoor kitchen shower and bathroom but it made me feel more part of the surroundings.

A Slice of Heaven
We stayed in the Yoga Yurta for two nights for a little getaway and it was divine. Definitely give a high recommendation for it! Robbie and Greg were wonderful with communication and having everything we needed on hand. My partner doesn't always enjoy the outdoors camping experience but this place was absolutely perfect because of the yurta being able to close off bugs (which there are few of anyways in NM), there are heating and cooling options inside, umbrella seating and kitchenette that was just right, and all the perks of outdoor exploration just a few steps away. It felt private even though there was another couple staying in another rental because there is a lot of property in between which includes an awesome shaded deck and a ping pong table. They have beautified the space with thoughtful touches. They're clear about the bathroom being about a 30-second walk away, which only made us want to explore more in that area by the garden and vineyard. That's only the start of the magic - check out the rest on their description, and there's even more to find beyond that.

Yoga Yurt Honeymoon
This was our last stop on a great honeymoon trip. We were looking forward to staying in the yurt ever since we booked it but we did not expect how wonderful it would actually be. On top of the hosts being warm and cordial the yurt also has great views to watch the stars, a warm comfortable bed, a great outdoor cooking area and super close to all the great things this city offers. The wife and I truly loved staying here and we will be back.

Another great stay at Sunny Mellow! The Yurta is awesome with beautiful Mountain Scenery. A wonderful garden on the property allowed for fresh veggies and herbs that can be picked. Magical Yurta
The Yurta is so wonderful that it deserves to sit on its beautiful property, with peace and joy all around. A small piece of heaven for sure. Thank you Robbie and Greg for this amazing place! Perfect getaway!
I've stayed at another property at Sunny Mellow before and loved it. This was the first time in the Yoga Yurta and it was wonderful! So comfortable with a great bed and with all the amenities of the outdoor kitchen, bathroom, and shower. It was so peaceful and a great place to be still and quiet and enjoy nature.

Lovely Mountain Oasis
Everything was as promised in the listing. Greg greeted us as we arrived and was very kind and helpful. We had everything we needed with the exception of forks. There were only two little, three tuned baby forks available. Also, I did find the bathroom and shower location a bit confusing. From the pictures, I though it was right by the room. But it was about 100 yards away. It wasn't a big deal to walk the distance, but it wasn't I was expected. Our stay was secluded and peaceful. We had a wonderful time. The yurt was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again. Thanks Greg!

Sorry you did not call or text to ask where the silverware was, but it was there waiting for you in the kitchen fitted beautifully with everything that even a gourmet cook would need. You also must have also missed in the description of the Yurt on VRBO that the awesome, cute and very clean outdoor shower and bathroom is a short 30 second walk from the front door of the Yurt, and sports a view of the vegetable garden, from which you may freely take of the abundant vegetables, and a view of world traveled statuary, as well as of the Rocky Cliffs above the villa. I wonder if you had time to walk the many trails of the Villa, or sit in the Fruit Orchard, The Vineyard picnic table, or the Rose Garden with all it's fragrance, or engage in any of the recreation provided. Did you use the "Star Chamber" the one evening of your stay to view the galaxy in it's Eternity? Next time! We look forward to hosting you again soon! :-) Greg and Robbie

Peaceful Oasis
Sunny Mellow Villa is a peaceful oasis not too far off busy I40. When you enter the grounds (via perfectly detailed instructions), it's like you step into a slower world. The Yoga Yurta was exactly as pictured and described. Sort of 'glamping' with all the conveniences of home, super comfortable and equipped with cooler, heater, fan and super comfortable king size bed. Not to mention that as you fall asleep you can see the stars through the window in the roof! The outdoor kitchen is well equipped and charming. Don't be afraid of the 'outdoor' restroom - there is plenty of privacy. And each accommodation is placed so as to have it's own privacy. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!
