"It was so nice to only have to walk across the street from Kyoto Station to get to the ryokan hotel. Enjoyed the traditional hot springs baths and the free hot drinks vending machine in the lobby. "Great location, just minutes from Kyoto station (although it took us forever to figure out how to get out of the station!) we had a very comfortable one night here in a this traditional ryokan. Very friendly staff and we enjoyed the traditional Japanese breakfast before checking out. It was located on a side street between other ryokans also. Would recommend for travelers wanting to experience a quieter and traditional and classic ryokan. "

"The location of this Ryokan is excellent, just opposite one of the main temples of Kyoto. But where the info on hotels.com had mentioned that the owner has a dog, it did not mention that the entire place smells strongly of wet dog. Too bad since the people were friendly enough and the place has potential."
