"It was so nice to only have to walk across the street from Kyoto Station to get to the ryokan hotel. Enjoyed the traditional hot springs baths and the free hot drinks vending machine in the lobby. Rooms were dated but clean and cosy. Staff were attentive and friendly. I'm not a fan of sleeping on futons, but my family loved it. "Very traditional from your normal hotel. Close to teain station and many restaraunts near. Staff was by far the most helpful with anything you needed. Small breakfast area on Floor 2 each day "

"The location of this Ryokan is excellent, just opposite one of the main temples of Kyoto. But where the info on hotels.com had mentioned that the owner has a dog, it did not mention that the entire place smells strongly of wet dog. Too bad since the people were friendly enough and the place has potential."
