Gull Rock is a Frontline House above Porthmeor Beach, with Amazing Sea Views

The house is in the heart of St Ives with parking for 4/5 cars directly above the famous surfing beach of Porthmeor with fantastic sea views.. The old town and the harbour are just a short and fairly level walk away. The house has recently been totally refurbished to a very high standard and given a contemporary beach house theme. The property sleeps 12 people with a bathroom, 4 en-suite shower rooms and central heating throughout.

All the main reception rooms and the master bedroom have amazing sea views of Porthmeor Beach taking in the Island and the headland called "The Clodgy". Four of the other bedrooms have some views of the sea and four of the bedrooms have access to a balcony or decked area.

The ground floor contains: A contemporary kitchen/diner with a large bay window and panoramic sea views, TV with DVD player, CD/ radio, and seating for 10/12. A fully fitted kitchen with 2 pyrolytic ovens, hob, 2 dishwashers, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Two twin bedrooms with nautical decoration , one of which has an en-suite shower room, the other is next to a cloakroom with a basin and wc.

The first floor contains: A large lounge overlooking the sea with 3 sofas, 2 rattan chairs, TV and murals of St Ives. Two king size bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms including shower, basin and wc and direct access to the decked area. One king size bedroom opposite the bathroom with private balcony. One bathroom with bath and overhead shower, basin and wc.

The second floor comprises the master bedroom with king size bed, an en-suite shower room and private balcony with views over the Beach.

Outside there are two decked areas with some sea views accessed from the first floor. The first has sun loungers and casual seating and the higher level has garden tables and chairs for dining. There is off street parking for 4/5 cars , a cold outside shower and a garage for storing surfboards etc. with a washing line .

PLEASE NOTE:
Short breaks of 2, 3 or 4 nights are calculated on a percentage basis (not a nightly rate) and are normally, only accepted from November - end of February, unless we still have availability closer to the commencement date.

A two-night break may be booked through this website. You will need to contact us for an exact 3 or 4 night price.

We do not accept a short break during the Christmas week but do accept a 3 or 4 night short break over the New Year.

We loved the property but sadly our stay was marred by the downstairs hot water system failing which meant no hot water from kitchen sink, shower and radiators for drying shower towels for 4 days. We had to call for someone to come to rectify the situation. This situation caused a bit of a problem

a superb 3 storey house with amazing sea views over Porthmeor Beach and the headland. Clean, tidy and well equipped with plenty of external space for entertaining with further sea views. Have stopped in 3 large houses around St Ives so far, and this is by far the best house. Highly recommended.

The star of the show for this house is the location and the size. We had three families together, totaling 7 adults and 3 kids (all 6 and under). While aspects of the house were challenging with the little ones, overall it was great with the downstairs rooms and various bedroom options. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes and cutlery, though could have used a few more small additions. One other challenge was the steepness of the stairs given the lack of handrails. Overall, it had an amazing view, very easy to get to the beach and into the town, and good parking. Definitely recommended!

The house is very well equiped, two dishwashers! Lost of dishes and cutlery. Great for more than one family with domnstairs room with kitchen and big table and upstairs sitting room with lots of couches. If the sun is out you can sit on the terrace with lots of people and look out over the sea. The house has an amazing seaview and is located in a dead end street. This means it is relatively quiet in the busy summerweeks of st ives, walk down the road and your at the beach. A bit further and you'r right in the old towncentre.

Large house. We were a family of 7 and 2 dogs. Plenty of indoor space. Car parking Is important in st ives and we could fit 4 cars. Great location. Well equipped with the exception of the TV which was not internet enabled so no ability to steam films.

Perfect location next to beach and perfect setup for 6 adults and 4 children. House has been very tastefully modernised with the unusual benefit for St Ives of having 4 car spaces.

Excellent location, good size property, good facilities. However there were a few issues with cleanliness. These included, rubbish found under sofa in lounge on arrival, a rotten onion in one of the kitchen cupboards & sweet wrappers under one of the beds. Maybe you might want to consider putting a handrail on the stairs as several of our party found it difficult to go up & down them with nothing to hold on to except the spindles. An enjoyable holiday which with a bit more TLC would have been even better. The question was asked by several members of our party, why such a late check in & such a n early check out?
