"Enjoyed every minute. The river-facing windows and deck allowed us to experience the view all day and night. Don’t be fooled by the charming vintage exterior because the amenities are all in excellent condition. The mattresses are among the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The bathroom is luxurious with the jacuzzi being everything you could ask for. Close to spectacular hiking trails and scenery. Highly recommend!"

"My daughter and I spent a night here after a long drive through heavy and windy rains. It was a great place to rest and recover. I loved our room, the beds were comfortable and we had an enjoyable dinner in the restaurant/bar downstairs. The staff was friendly and helpful and we hope to stay again. "I rented this cabin for my dad and aunt to come down for Memorial Day weekend as they have done for the last 2 years. This year was the little different my dad suffered a heart attack and didn't make it the host was amazing and offered an extra night so that my brother could come in to make funeral arrangements. I highly recommend this cabin not just because it is very lovely but also because the host is amazing! "

"House has no visible neighbors but convenient to Garden of Gods and other trails. House has amazing views, 3 bathrooms and lots of big beds for adults. We used wash machine after getting clothes wet and muddy on trail. Kitchen fully stocked for grilling or cooking. Nearest grocery store a bit away so plan to haul in food. "

"We had a terrific time at your Beautiful Waterfront Cabin! The views from the deck and hot tub were fabulous. We enjoyed exploring nearby Metropolis, IL and had a wonderful hike in the Shawnee National Forest. We would definitely recommend this property to friends!"

"What a gem of a spot! Serene lake views with sunrise and sunset colors. Kayaking across a lake like glass. Watching turtles pop up and herons fly across. A cozy cabin with a little hot tub to sit in while you relax and look at the view. There are great hikes near by. We highly recommend the Garden of the Gods observation trial and Ferne Clyffe. "

"The property is amazing. We had a lot of fun hanging together with the kids enjoying nature. The only issues was the pin on the map is not accurate at all. I've always used it in the past the time took us down a very scary road that i thought we would get stuck."

"When we arrived the GPS was incorrect and we were starting to freak. We called the owner and she immediately dropped what she always doing and drove to meet us and personally lead the way to the property. There is nothing to be needed once you are there. They had thought of everything. There is limited food and resources around, so bring the necessary food and drinks you would need. "

"Our beds were cheap, thin, and uncomfortable. The piece of metal stripping between the carpet and kitchen floor was bent up and not safe if someone stepped or tripped on it. We put the trash can on top of it. The door lining was off some. Incredible view! "

The home was perfect for our gathering but perhaps the most perfect part of the home was the yard and the creek!! Southern Illinois held so many hiking and waterfall adventures.
