"This place looks as of it uses to be a big deal, today it is rather worn out, with a bit of a "paranormal movie" spirit - especially in the basement department, but also on the main floor. This is to some extent also the case for the resturant/pool area, where the sauna, some of the toilets and dressing rooms are in a sad state. The pool itself appeared nice, and the fitness as well. "We spent 3 nights at Playa Nicuesa, and were totally bowled over. This place really is a hidden gem, and all the staff work hard to make it that way. Everything about our stay ran so smoothly, from our pickup and boat transfer on arrival, to our departure. Beautiful location, so calm and peaceful. Wonderful staff, all very friendly, polite and knowledgeable, and great that they always remembered our names! Olman's welcome on the pier and his easygoing manner made us feel at home straight away....

"This was a terrific property. Luxury surf resort. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful rooms. A very short walk across the street to the beach. Fully equipped room with Wi-Fi, kitchen, tvs, laundry room, etc. Great outdoor terrace with chairs and large dining table to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. "Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...
