The meals were healthy, delicious, and varied - prepared by cheerful and skilled cooks in the onsite kitchen, and served in a comfortable and nicely decorated dining hall overlooking the grounds and forest. "Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...

"I really liked this place a lot. We are a Family of 2 adults and 2 children, and we are very satisfied with our stay here. The staff are very friendly and helped us with any questions we had about the tourist attractions. A small jungle surrounds the hotel where you can see monkeys and parrots. You can follow a small trail within the hotel area. The kitchen is great to be able to make your own food. It is mostly backpackers coming by and staying for a couple of days. "I really enjoyed staying at Cabinas Golfito. I had a flight early in the morning, so I just walked to the airport which took less than 10 minutes. Host was extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again! "
