"The location and views from the property can’t be beat. The food was fabulous, and the staff is incredibly accommodating. "Bosque del Cabo is a destination in itself. Overlooking the Pacific and Gulf on the Osa Peninsula it is beautifully maintained, wildlife are all around, trails are rugged and moderate, and the staff could not be more personal and helpful. Meals are delicious We had menu choices for breakfast and lunch; dinner was a communal buffet with many options. There are cookies out and cocktail appetizers. Our cabin was perfect-a thatched spacious casita with a large bathroom and lovely outdoor garden...

"Very difficult to get to - hour and a half of bumpy roads to Carate, then a 3.5k hike. The logistics were not well communicated, but worked out fine. Hot (mid-April visit). The grounds are pretty special with spider monkeys frolicking in the trees right above the tents and ocean waves supplying 24-7 white noise. The guided hike into the National Park was underwhelming - the wildlife was superb, but you only skirt the periphery of the park and don't get to really explore the old growth. "

"Playa Cativo Lodge is a wonderful place and the accommodations, food and staff were absolutely perfect. It was nice to be so close to the gulf which was calm, warm, sandy and perfect for swimming. My only complaint was that the entire front area of the lodge has been landscaped with grass and ornamental plants, many of which are not native. Because of this large open area few birds or animals come near the lodge. Bird watching was disappointing compared to lodges that have left the rainforest...

"This hotel was a total hidden gem. Absolutely loved it. One of the most amazing garden/deck/pool areas you could ask for with a little pool with a waterfall that was perfect for cooling off during the heat of the Osa afternoons. "What an incredible experience it was to stay here!!! Definitely high-end accommodations for a treehouse. Michael was a pleasure to work with, was very accommodating when our flight was delayed and we got there late. We loved being in the trees and so close to so much wild life. I definitely would recommend for someone who loves nature and the outdoors. We all had an overwhelming feeling of sadness the day we had to leave."
