This was our 5th visit to Punta Cana and our first stay at Royalton Bavaro. We booked two adjoining “luxury suite swim out rooms”. Upon arrival, We had water leaking from our air vent in the ceiling in one of the rooms and it smelled. They sent someone to mop it up. We came back a few hours later and water was streaming out of the vent and light fixture, down the closet door and pooling on the floor. We asked to be moved, but we had booked adjoining rooms with our kids (18,18,and 14). They could move us, but we’d be in a different building away from kids. I really did NOT want to be separated; therefore, they sent someone to fix leak and finally stopped the water, but our room really started to reek of mildew/musty mold smell. I had to wash EVERYTHING and spray down inside of suitcases because everything smelled so bad when we got home. The humidity in our room was so high that my phone gave me a moisture message that it could not complete a charge and our glass window to patio stayed covered in fog and moisture. The resort was nice; however, our room (16-134) was TERRIBLE. Food was decent and staff was nice. Drinks are below average unless you upgrade to their diamond status. We booked the Culinary Experience. It was interesting, but not worth the price. We also had a terrible experience booking a snorkeling excursion through resort. They have local vendors set up around property and usuals at beach area. I will choose a different resort for our next visit to DR.
