"This review is tricky because the property was beatiful, fantastic view and two patios to use. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was updated and very nice. However, there were ants everywhere. All over the kitchen, bathroom, sinks toilet, towels. We told the property owners but they were not concerned and just gave us a ant repellant spray. "We have been visiting this great villa in july 2018 with a party of 10 people, and we all had a great time. There is room to be together and in solitude if you wish. Good spaces to enjoy the sun, but also cosy places in the shade, with the grapes over our heads. The panorameview over the sea is fantastic and the hosts very friendly and helpfull. It is located right on the main street and as you are walking down towards the central part of town/main beach area, you pass many wonderful restaurants and shops, etc... so it is in a good location. "Santa Caterina villa is stunning, and everything was that we needed was provided and more (including food and drinks in the pantry and fridge). The hosts are a Positano family and local business owners who are very responsive (10-15 minutes away, helping with luggage), and give the property an amazing story of generations of ownership. "The hotel is quite run down, and furniture is old and uncomfortable. We also had ants in the room, but they were removed when pointed out to staff. The room was very spacious and had a nice outdoor area. Breakfast was decent if you are good with basics plus a little extra. The area has a beautiful view and it’s possible to walk to the city, but impossible to walk back up all the stairs in the heat which means you depend on taxis that were 30/40 EUR each time. Overall, not a 4 star hotel in any way, and pictures don’t capture current stage. We were a few friends and had many trips booked limiting the stay inside the hotel and for that purpose it was somewhat okay. Staff in reception and cleaning were nice and helpful. "
