Disappointed by Miscommunication and Lack of Transparency
I recently stayed at this hotel and originally booked for three nights. However, due to a change in my plans, I needed to check out a night early. I informed the front desk about this change on the day of check-in, which was more than 48 hours before my original checkout date. The staff assured me that this would not be a problem given I am informing them in advance.
Unfortunately, after I checked out, I was informed that the manager did not approve the refund, and therefore I would be charged for all three nights. This was not only disappointing but also frustrating. I followed the exact process that was instructed to me and communicated my change as early as possible.
My main issue isn't with the refund itself, but with the false impression I was given that everything was taken care of. Had I been told up front that a refund wouldn’t be possible, I would have explored alternative options. Instead, I was misled and left with no choice at the last moment.
I hope the hotel can improve its internal communication and be clear and upfront with guests about their policies, especially when it directly affects decision-making and costs.
