Best Views in Petoskey with Panoramic view of Little Traverse Bay

Sunset Cottage and its unique bungalow, sits on the bluff with panoramic views of Little Traverse Bay. The sunsets are breathtaking. The house is completely renovated with all new appliances, quartz countertops, and is centrally located. You can walk to town, Bay Front Park and the Marina and all shopping is minutes away.

There's a large yard with a badminton net and a fire pit with chairs. There are two adult bikes and one Child bike available for use. (no helmets)

For fall and winter guests, Nubs Nob, Boyne Highlands and Boyne Mountain are nearby for fall color tours, great skiing and fun winter activities.

We think there's nothing worse than getting to your rental and finding the beds are sub-par. All of our beds are super high-quality with down pillows and quilts and high end linens.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all types of pots, pans, baking dishes and spices, and fresh herbs on the deck in the summer. There are two sets of dishes, and there is also a gas barbecue.

For families with kids, we have two dish sets and two booster seats.

The Bungalow is rented with the cottage as a package from Memorial weekend through October, and from November until the end of May they can be booked separately. 30 day minimum rental period. We have been forced to move to monthly rentals because of new city laws regarding short term rentals. We normally charged $875 per night, but are reducing it to $450 per night for a 30 day rental period.

We love staying here. The house is perfect for my family of 4 and grandparents to stay comfortably. You are in walking distance to the lake and the downtown area. The sunsets are the best!

Great beach retreat

Beautifully decorated and maintained home within short walk to wonderful beach. The kids loved it and all the adults did, too. This is definitely a spot to return to.

Perfect Petoskey Cottage

We had a wonderful time staying here. Location is perfect for walks down to the pier and bike rides. Very close to downtown Petoskey. The large yard was great for playing badminton and we enjoyed all our meals in the patio when we could! Highly recommend.

Family/Friends Yearly Trip

We all absolutely loved this home. Loved!! The rooms were all so beautiful decorated and comfy. We all loved the views of the water and Patty left little things incase we forgot anything. The location was the best we ever had. We were close to bike trails, running trails, the pier and downtown. We walked to stores and breweries so easily. We will definitely be staying again

Sunset Cottage

Lovely experience. Cottage is comfortable, tastefully furnished, and thoughtfully supplied. Patti is a gracious host who responded quickly to our questions and requests. We enjoyed chatting with her husband, Andy, when he stopped by to check on a needed repair. We were also delighted by a couple of visits by a timid, but curious, doe who nibbled on the foliage lining the yard. Highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay in Petoskey.

Awesome Property in Desirable Petoskey Location!

I cannot say enough good things about this property, which was perfect for our long weekend gathering of friends and family. The home and detached guesthouse have been recently renovated and everything is fresh and new. The beautiful guest house is an optional add-on. It is such a treat to have this option in a rental. There is a king bed with gorgeous bedding, a very attractive, high-ceilinged common area with wet bar and bar refrigerator, a lovely bathroom, and an attached porch. The upstairs showers in the main house, merit particular note. They are decadently spacious and high-end & the towels are plush. The upstairs bathrooms themselves are roomy as well. The views of Little Traverse Bay from the upstairs rooms are magnificent! The Prime bedroom has a private wrap-around balcony with both chaises and upholstered furniture, and is a lovely oasis on which to enjoy the morning sunrise, daytime sunbathing/reading or an evening cocktail. The location is ideal. We are familiar with this area of Petoskey and selected this property based on its location as much as the property itself. It is walking distance to the water, the Wheelway, the historic gaslight district, Latitude 45 for bike rentals, etc,. yet it is an incredibly quiet neighborhood. The hospital is nearby, but we only heard a siren once. We did not avail ourselves of the fire pit or the badminton net which are both on different areas of the property, but we hope to return in the future and enjoy that aspect of the grounds. Lastly, the owner is quite accommodating and communication with her was very positive. I was in Petoskey this summer for a few weeks, and she indulged my request to see the property in person on turnover day between rentals, which I greatly appreciated. I knew when I saw the place that is would be perfect for my big weekend in September. Two thumbs up on this awesome property!!!

Wonderful vacation home for about 7 adults

My 3 brothers and their wives and myself stayed here for 5 nights in early September. It was perfect. We watched sunsets over the lake in the evening with trees in the foreground. We had plenty of room to breakfast, play cards, and visit with each other during this vacation/reunion. We enjoyed meeting Patti and Andy who live next door, who are charming.

Perfect Family Vacation

We appreciated the warm welcome gifts and advice from Patti. The house is truly lovely and the views spectacular! The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and it's easy to walk to town. We really enjoyed the decks, using the bikes on nearby trails, kayaking on Bear river, yoga in a Lavender Farm, and day trips to Mackinaw Island and Sturgeon Bay Beach. Patti is a terrific host!

Absolutely Amazing

Had the most amazing time at the house! Patti has amazing style and she did not skimp on any detail! The house was comfortable, stylish and perfect location. Patti was always available and responded quickly to any questions we had!! As beautiful as Patti made the house inside, the view was something we will never get over!! Full northern Michigan experience

Perfect house for our family vacation

We loved our time in Sunset Cottage. Patti was the perfect host and the house was even nicer in person than the pictures! The views from the porch are breathtaking, especially the sunsets. It's a short walk to Bayfront park and to the downtown Petoskey shopping area. We enjoyed hunting for Petoskey stones, grilling out, playing badminton, walking the trails and around town, and just relaxing in this beautiful home. It was a short drive to Mackinaw City to take the ferry into Mackinac island. We also visited Charlevoix and Harbor Springs.

Beautiful Petoskey Cottage

Highly recommend Sunset Cottage. The home is charming, very nicely decorated, comfortable beds and pillows, and a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need. Patti is a first-rate host and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved sitting out on the decks—the views and sunsets are truly remarkable. And a nice lawn for tag and badminton. We loved it!

Excellent Property

We had a great time during our stay at this property. Perfect for Families. We enjoyed the large Decks and view. The open living area was also very comfortable. The bedrooms and Bathrooms upstairs were very nice. The entire property was clean and updated. Excellent location, we enjoyed walking to biking into downtown Petoskey and along the Bike Trails.

Modern, cozy home by the slopes

We had a lovely time at Patti's rental home in Petoskey. Patti was very responsive during the check-in/out process. The home was super clean, modern, and cozy. The view to the bay was a plus! It wasn't too far from skiing and our family loved it!

Dream house

This house on Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey is as close as it gets to a dream house. The views are fabulous, the space is beautiful with absolutely everything up to date and super clean. The host was very kind and prompt. 10 minutes walk to Main Street (The local Bookstore as the marker). Would love to stay here again in the future.

Fabulous stay in Petosky!

This property is even better than the photos imply! Absolutely beautiful! Great location close to the Little Traverse Wheelway that is great for morning or evening walks. Kithcen was well stocked, fire pit, gas grill, and pretty much anything else you might need. If I happen to find myself back in this area I would not hesitate to book this property again!

Great views of the lake from the 2 decks. The house has everything you need for an enjoyable vacation. It’s even better than it shows in the pictures. All of the beds are extremely comfortable which is definitely something you’ll appreciate! Property manager is very responsive to any questions or needs you may have. Excellent vacation property

The house is gorgeous with beautiful views, all furniture clean and new and well thought out. Kitchen and bathrooms are fully stocked. Owner is always responsive. Lovely chess set and chairs! We will definitely keep it in mind for future vacations.
