This is a spacious, clean, and quiet apartment. The beds are comfortable. We appreciated the kitchen, dining table and couch. The apartment is very close to the metro and there are a number of restaurants nearby. However, the entryway smells of pee and there is a dark corridor to go down to get to the door to the place, then another long corridor to get to the stairs. The area, while lively, gets a bit run down as you go north. There is a lot of graffiti on the buildings and many shops are boarded up. We had to pick up the keys from a liquor shop north of the place. And we weren't given the code to give to the cashier until just before we needed to pick up the keys/fob. So, we were a bit nervous about arriving in the city and not having all of the details of the checkin.The flat is an "attic", squeezed into the interior of the apartment, above the inner courtyard. It is surrounded on four sides by the apartment building. It is as if someone filled in the courtyard of a typical Parisian apartment building with a small flat. So, you cannot look out onto the street and it is mostly skylights and windows that look into other people's windows. The patio boards are soft and we didn't want to walk on them.Communication was poor with the company that manages this place. We had problems with the heating system and they didn't get back to us until two days later, when they just sent an email saying that they trusted that we figured it out.
